A law firm in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Patent Agent to join their Intellectual Property team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in molecular biology and a proven track record in preparing and prosecuting patent applications. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.Job Duties:Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and stakeholders to understand patent-related needs and strategies.Prepare, draft, and prosecute high-quality patent applications in the field of molecular biology.Conduct prior art searches and analyze technical literature to support patentability assessments.Provide strategic advice and guidance on patent portfolio management and development.Collaborate with attorneys on patent litigation, opinions, licensing, and due diligence projects.Maintain accurate and timely billing records by firm policies.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in molecular biology or a related field; advanced degree (PhD) preferred.Registration as a Patent Agent with the USPTO.2+ years of experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications, preferably in a law firm setting.Familiarity with patent litigation, opinions, licensing, and due diligence processes is advantageous.Strong analytical and writing skills with a keen attention to detail.Excellent organizational and time management abilities.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Outstanding oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.Proven research, problem-solving, and conceptual thinking skills.Demonstrated ability to influence and persuade stakeholders effectively.Education and Certifications:4-year Bachelor's degree in molecular biology or a related field.Advanced degree (PhD) in molecular and cellular biology or similar disciplines (excluding chemistry, medical device, or pharmaceutical sciences) preferred.Registration as a Patent Agent with the USPTO.Skills:Strong analytical and writing skills.Good business judgment.Excellent organizational skills.Ability to work collaboratively and independently.Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.Research and problem-solving skills.Conceptual thinking.Ability to influence others.Job Location:
