Description
We are seeking an innovative Data Scientist with a TS/SCI and appropriate polygraph level clearance. The Data Scientist will be responsible for identifying data sources and needs, performing aggregation and analysis of that data, and integrating the sponsor office into the broader data science community. They will advise on architectures to make the data useful and accessible, supporting a variety of efforts across multiple languages and regions. This project features the opportunity to interact with a wide range of key stakeholders, including those at senior levels, and has the potential for travel. This is an exciting opportunity for an intellectually curious, energetic data scientist looking for hands-on experience with real impact.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with stakeholder education on quantitative capabilities, helping them to understand strengths and weaknesses of different approaches.Identify available data and determine mission-oriented questions that can be answered.Extract insights from bulk semi-structured data using analysis techniques.Consult on the development and implementation of process improvement and impact evaluations.Develop strategies for measuring performance of models and processes.Analyze quantitative and qualitative information to provide insights into organizational strengths and opportunities.Prepare engaging presentations through data visualization and analytic narratives.Brief senior-level customers on research plans, activities, findings, and recommendations.Supervisory Responsibilities

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise
Education and Experience
A Bachelor's degree is required.Minimum of 5 years' experience in a consulting role in the IC.Master's degree in business, social science, or behavioral science preferred but not required.Required Skills/Abilities
U.S. Citizenship.Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.Familiarity with industry best practices for software/hardware optimization with large data sets.Experience with machine learning, statistical modeling, time-series forecasting, and/or geospatial analytics.Proven ability to analyze data and translate it into meaningful insights.Comfortable with standard ETL and data cleansing processes in pandas or similar.Proficiency in one or more programming languages, preferably Python.Ability to manipulate large data sets into user-friendly formats.Tenacity to find data sources and build contacts across the organization.General understanding of statistics, vector mathematics, and probability.Experience developing presentations and providing briefings to non-technical audiences.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Desired Skills/Abilities
Proficiency with major data science tools and languages such as Python, NiFi, PostgreSQL/SQL, Spark, and Git.Experience working with open-source data sets.Experience working with Cyber data (e.g., Shodan, Censys.IO).Experience cleaning, managing, and processing large volumes of data.Experience with cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, and Azure.Experience with Hadoop, Spark, or other parallel storage/computing processes is a plus.Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Routine video conference and/or in-person meetings.Ability to attend planned meetings within the Washington Metro Area region.
