CORE’s ability to impact communities is directly emboldened by each member of our staff and leadership.We are seeking candidates to hire during the start of new emergency operations to provide auxiliary support during times of crisis. We are looking for a dedicated Emergency Operations Program Coordinator for limited term stints to join our Emergency Response Deployment team. This role involves conducting community assessments, implementing projects (such as home repair, relief item distribution, and many others), and performing various administrative tasks. The position demands flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of response operations.Roster work is available on an as-needed basis (it is not full-time or continuous).Emergency Roster work is available on an as-needed basis and is not full-time or continuous. Roster members may be called upon to deploy based on the specific needs arising from emergency situations, with the understanding that deployment opportunities and lengths may vary. Candidates should be prepared for rapid deployment, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to serve in various locations across the country as required.

Responsibilities:

Community Assessments and Project Implementation:

With the deployment team, conduct community assessments to identify needs and develop appropriate response strategies.Implement various projects and modalities such as home repairs, Points of Distributions, Logistical/Procurement support, and/or other necessary tasks based on the response needs.

Deployment and Coordination:

Deploy to disaster sites as part of the Emergency Response Team.With the Response team, coordinate and oversee activities, ensuring effective on-ground operations.Connect with impacted individuals to provide services and collaborate with community groups to identify and address unmet needs.

Administrative and Communication Support:

Assist with administrative tasks including report writing, data entry, and documentation.Act as a liaison for departments such as Communications, Partnerships, Development, Finance, and Procurement/Logistics, addressing their on-the-ground needs and ensuring effective collaboration when team members from these departments are unable to deploy.Maintain regular contact with site leads and administrative personnel regarding humanitarian operations.

Training and Development:

Assist in the creation and updating of training materials in collaboration with the Global People and Culture team, Safety team, and Emergency Response team.Conduct training sessions for volunteers and staff to ensure they are well-prepared for deployment as needed.

Scope and Travel:

Travel to U.S based emergencies as needed.Called upon with short notice for deployments of 2-10 weeks as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, Emergency Management, Public Administration, Humanitarian Aid, International Relations, Social Work, or related fields that offer foundational knowledge in crisis response, workforce management, and organizational coordination.Minimum 2 years of work in emergency response or humanitarian work preferred but not required.Experience:

Construction, plumbing, or related field preferred but not required.Proven experience in emergency operations or volunteer management.Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams in high-pressure environments.Excellent communication and coordination abilities, with experience working across multiple departments and teams.Flexibility to deploy to various locations in response to disasters and humanitarian crises.A commitment to CORE's mission and values, with a passion for making a difference in the lives of those affected by disasters.Skills and Competencies:

Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong project management, leadership, and organizational skills.Flexible and adaptive to a frequently changing environment.Ability to conduct community assessments and implement response projects.Competence in administrative tasks, report writing, and communications.Valid Driver’s License and clean driving history.Available at least for 2 weeks at a time.Fluent in Spanish or other secondary language preferred.Understanding and appreciating diverse cultural backgrounds and sensitivities, ensuring that all interventions are respectful and appropriate to the communities served.Certification or experience in one or multiple of the following preferred but not necessary: Tarping, Muck & Gutting, Medical, Construction, Plumbing, Chainsaw Operations, Safety and Safeguarding, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL).

$60,000 - $70,000 a year

In accordance with law, the expected pay range for this position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
