Anti-Money LaunderingGlobal Shareholder Services is a sales-aligned service organization that provides Investor servicing and record keeping focused on enabling distribution, providing consultative services, creating scale and controls.

The Anti-Money Laundering team works as part of the larger Client Onboarding team to ensure regulatory and firmwide "Know Your Client" requirements are met for every potential Goldman Sachs Asset Management client relationship. The team supports multiple products and business lines across Asset Management that have differing levels of volumes and complexity. This is a global function, but this role is specific largely to US based clientele. Responsibilities include managing the AML reviews for numerous urgent fund closes and deadlines, collaborating with internal stakeholders and teams to produce efficient turnaround times, and ensuring the team adheres to all necessary procedures set in place by Financial Crime Compliance. The role also requires pushing forward systematic initiatives with technology teams and leading projects centered around alignment across products.

Responsibilities

Manage a team of eight individuals in Salt Lake City and Chicago.Establish a strong understanding of differing client classifications, entity structures, policies and global regulations.Identify and remediate escalations related to urgent onboardings or fund closes that require senior attention.Frequently collaborate with internal teams such as Financial Crimes Compliance and Client Onboarding to manage expectations and identify potential roadblocks in the larger onboarding process.Participate in managing "maintenance" case work to ensure the correct level of AML was performed on existing relationships.Both run and oversee team reporting for a number of account related processes, many of which are established risk controls.Work closely with engineering teams to uplift current systems to support growing business and accommodate new regulations within the industry.Capture team metrics and milestones, and report internally to senior leaders.Coordinate and participate in internal project work.

Experience / Skills

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university required.A minimum of 7 years of experience specifically within the asset management or financial services industry, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of industry dynamics, products, or market trends.Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Excellent project management skills and ability to multi-task.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Effective time management and prioritization skills.Team oriented and self-motivated with a positive attitude.Outstanding leadership and communication skills with the ability to present strategies and business decisions clearly and concisely.Deep understanding of operations with appreciation for processes and controls.Preferred AML or Compliance experience.
