One Data Streaming Platform.Data Connects Us.About the Role:The Director of Technology Audit will partner with the Head of Internal Audit to build the Technology Audit function at Confluent. In this strategic leadership role, you will have the opportunity to assess technology risk across the company, provide advice to senior leadership, and improve the cybersecurity posture. You will devise strategies to provide advisory/assurance services to improve processes. You will oversee the execution Technology internal audit efforts including privacy, cybersecurity, M&A due diligence, system implementations, product launches and other business initiatives.The ideal candidate will bring a solution-oriented mindset and risk-based approach to identifying, evaluating, and addressing critical technology risks and the relevant business and governance processes; and will partner extensively with the Engineering, Product, IT, Security, Finance and Legal teams at Confluent.What You Will Do:Developing the annual technology audit plan and schedule using a risk-based approach, creating a pipeline of projects related to Cybersecurity, Privacy, Emerging technology risks, Infrastructure Security, Product Security, and controls over financial reportingBuild the technology audit function.Planning for and auditing processes and controls across the company to ensure security, accuracy, completeness, effectiveness, and reliability with limited supervisionPartnering with business / functional management to understand their objectives, identify potential issues and the root causes, make value added and practical recommendations, and ensure those recommendations are implemented on a timely basisAssisting the Head of Internal Audit in annual Enterprise Risk Management activitiesExercising business judgment to prioritize and evaluate level of riskPreparing clear, written, fact-based reports for board and management use and working with management on documenting action steps to reduce riskManaging assigned projects within a team, such as audit planning, board report preparation, or providing training on emerging issuesPresenting regular status updates to the CAE and business leadershipWhat You Will Bring:Bachelor's Degree, preferably IT or business related12+ years of public accounting, internal auditing, or related technology audit / compliance experienceStrong compliance and risk management skills: CISA, CIA, CISSP Certification desirableTech/SaaS industry experience is preferredPassionate about Technology, Cybersecurity, Product SecurityExperience with reviewing systems such as Github, AWS, Netsuite, SalesForce, etc and the underlying infrastructureProficient with reviewing Secure Development Lifecycle, Product Security, DevOps, Open-source usage, Software supply chain security, Data Privacy, and other emerging technology risksExcellent communication skills, both written and oralStrong analytical skills and ability to quickly grasp business needs and objectivesYou are a self-starter who is results driven and possesses a strong sense of urgency in a fast paced environmentDemonstrated history of leading a team of professionals and developing and growing your team through skills development and increasing scopeProven ability to develop relationships with senior leadership teams and build credibility quicklyComfortable in a fast-paced, ever-changing, rapid-growth, fun environmentCome As You AreAt Confluent, equality is a core tenet of our culture.
