Summary
The International Senior Accountant is a key member of a group of talented Accounting and Tax professionals and is critical to the Firm’s global expansion. This position is responsible for all accounting operations of the Firm’s foreign subsidiaries and foreign offices. This includes, but is not limited to, transfer pricing analyses, annual budget deliverables, cash flow analyses, account reconciliations, preparation of financial statements, and various tax filings. The International Senior Accountant has the opportunity to assist with various firm-wide business initiatives and projects. As a member of a team that is extremely focused on process improvement, this position also has the opportunity to help eliminate inefficiencies and identify solutions to maximize results. This role works collaboratively with professionals outside of the Accounting team, including Real Estate Operations, Human Resources, Information Technology and various others.
Location
This position is located in our Baltimore or Chicago office and offers a hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of being in the office once a week.
Responsibilities
Responsible for accounting operations of foreign subsidiaries in Mexico and Puerto Rico, branch offices in South Korea and Brazil, and any new international entities.Coordinate with local teams to prepare annual budget deliverables, which include revenue, operating expenses, production, and rates.Analyze services performed between domestic and foreign subsidiaries to ensure appropriate transfer pricing.Perform cash flow analyses to understand short-term and long-term cash flow needs.Reconciles general ledger account balances, including intercompany balances, on a monthly basis to ensure completeness and accuracy. Assists with enhancing automation of high-volume account reconciliations.Reviews and analyzes financial statements on a monthly basis. Provides commentary to senior leaders of the Accounting team.Assists with the monthly close processes, including preparation of journal entries.Ensure statutory compliance across all foreign subsidiaries. This includes local statutory audits and tax filings.Assists with various tax requirements, including sales and use tax filings, personal property tax filings, and other business tax filings.Prepares ad-hoc reports for senior management to support business decision making.Participates in system upgrades and enhancements.Other duties as assigned.
Desired Skills
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel. Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles, including cash basis versus accrual basis accounting. Polished written and oral communication skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Public accounting and/or law firm experience is preferred. Also, CPA license or candidate is preferred.
Minimum Education
4 Year / Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Certificates
CPA preferred.
Minimum Years Of Experience
3 years’ experience of prior accounting experience with international entities.
