Director of Faith Formation and Engagement The Director of Faith Formation and Engagement is a part of the University Ministries pastoral team and is responsible for leading undergraduate student facing Christ-centered formation and discipleship opportunities. Responsibilities also include general UM roles and tasks that contribute to the ministry to and care for Belmont students, faculty, and staff. Job Duties: Provide spiritual formation events and experiences for undergraduate students. Develop and oversee all Residence Hall programming including Spiritual Life Assistants and Hall Chaplains. Provide small group formation experiences for students including Bible studies and Connect Groups. Oversee University Ministries student communications including social media, Cadence, and the Weekly Newsletter. Work with University Minister on chapel logistics as needed. Contribute to the overall ministry of the UM Office by: Playing a contributing role to chapel, student leader training, Minister-on-Call, etc. Providing Pastoral Care as needed. Providing other pastoral responsibilities as needed. Representing University Ministries in campus-wide and external events as needed. Serving as a Title IX confidential resource. Education:
Bachelor’s Degree from accredited four-year college or university required. Master's degree preferred. Degree(s) in a ministerial or theological field preferred. Experience:
2-3 years experience in formal ministry with young adults including providing significant spiritual formation and discipleship programming. Higher Education experience preferred. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities): Be a balanced, growing, committed Christian and an active member of a church. Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to respond to high-pressure situations. Ability to thrive in an environment of hard work. Must be self-motivated, and exhibit a mature and responsible work ethic. Possess excellent administrative and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a ministry team setting. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to forge positive relationships with students, local ministries, churches, pastors, and community leaders while balancing the administrative tasks of the position. Ability to work irregular hours, specifically evening and weekends, as well as be available to travel out of town for extended periods of time. Must be committed to students' spiritual development. Knowledge of regulations regarding student privacy. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software applications.
