The Grants Manager oversees the organization’s administration of external revenue across its entire lifecycle. As the leader of the Grant Management team, s/he/they work closely with the other teams in the finance department and the programmatic workstreams across the organization. Major elements of the team’s portfolio are the development and ownership of all processes involved in the administration of external revenue; management of grants data in NetSuite; support and advice to the programmatic staff in the planning, execution, and close-out of external revenue; as well as the revenue recognition procedures that include invoicing and receivables.Grants Management (50%)Manage GMF’s portfolio of grants, contracts, and gifts, including their financial, reporting, and stewardship components.Support the review process of grant agreements by advising on potential issues to GMF’s ability to execute the contract.Ensure all new awards are set up correctly in the grants management system and updated over the lifecycle of the grant, as necessary.Create and update the grant calendars including all technical milestones and inform all internal stakeholders about upcoming milestones periodically.Prepare and provide financial reports to the donor in accordance with the grant agreement.Ensure grants records are retained after the award close-out as per funders’ specifications; ensure proper close-out of awards as per funders’ requirementsPrepare and submit the annual NICRA proposal package.Adjust prior year indirect cost recovery upon receipt of a new NICRASupport grant-specific expense verifications, as well as GMF’s annual financial audit as requested.Revenue recognition (30%)Perform and direct revenue recognition procedures including invoicing and receivables.Submit and track all invoices to donors.Maintain GMF’s access to donor-owned financial management

systems and request payments in accordance with grant regulations.Ensure timely booking of revenue for GMF’s portfolio of grants and contracts in accordance with US GAAP.Perform recognition of revenue and the release of revenue from restrictions as part of the quarterly closing process.Administration and Training (20%):Direct the daily work of the GMF Grant Management team and support the team’s development by identifying training and coaching opportunities in collaboration with the CFO.Develop and update internal structures, processes, and tools that govern the management of GMF’s external revenue.Work in close collaboration with other departments to develop and deliver training materials for GMF staff involved with the administration of external revenue during onboarding and as recurring training.Qualifications and Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Math, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.Minimum of five (5) years of technical grant management experience with US government issued grants, cooperative agreements, foundations, private and endowment funding.Working knowledge of US government federal regulations regarding fiscal management of federal funds such as OMB 2 CFR Part 200, Federal Acquisition Regulations; USAID Acquisition Regulations.Experience with grants management related to EU (European Union) and other European donors.Experience working with and managing the oversight of multimillion dollar grants.Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with accounting and CRM software.Demonstrated experience in problem solving and ability to find creative solutions.Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and handle simultaneous tasks.Solid analytical capabilities and excellent data presentation skills; strong writing skills.Sound business judgment and ability to manage shifting priorities and competing deadlines to ensure accuracy and high-quality standards.Prior experience in an international, cross-cultural work environment is essential with willingness to work flexible hours on an as-needed basis to serve the needs of a global organization.Proficiency in other languages a plus, especially German, Polish, Romanian or French.We highly encourage individuals from underrepresented backgrounds to apply.
