We are seeking a contract Electrical Design Engineer with new product development experience. This position is ideal for someone who has a strong technical background and years of experience designing PCAs for the consumer electronics industry.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Design circuit schematics and complete or facilitate PCB layoutPerform board bring-up and integration testing in collaboration with mechanical and firmware/softwareWrite test procedures and assist in formal verification of design function.Manage bills of materials and redesign for parts obsolescence or constrained supply chain.Apply design principles to prevent electromagnetic interference and assist with certification to EMC standards.Work closely and communicate regularly with clients to keep stakeholders apprised of project status, issues, design decisions, and risksThis position requires you to work on site at Simplexity’s client office in Bellevue for at least 3 days per week and more when significant integration activities are taking placeFull-time anticipated through the end of 2024 and possibly beyond, depending on performance and business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or similar technical degree from an accredited four-year university.4+ years of relevant, professional engineering experience.Experience with MCU / embedded designKnowledge of low power designExcellent organization and analytical skills combined with attention to detail. Ability to prioritize and plan effectively.Have a positive attitude and focus on client success.Ethical and honest in every part of the job.
PLUSES TO HAVE
RF experience preferredStrong experience with Altium toolset
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Two types of contractor roles will be considered:1099 contractors (have your own registered consulting/contracting business)
Hourly rate $100 - $130/hr, depending on experienceNo benefits, holidays, or paid time off (PTO) included
W-2 contractor (employee of Simplexity)
Hourly rate $75 - $95/hr, depending on experienceExcellent Healthcare plan (Medical, Dental, and Vision) fully paid for by the company for the employee; partial payment for dependents401(k) plan with company match after 1,000 hours of serviceLong-term and short-term disability, AD&D and Life InsuranceNo holidays or PTOPaid Sick Time eligible on the 90th day of employment, accruing 1 hour for each 40 hours worked
If applicant prefers a salaried position with holidays and paid time off, that will be considered, although at a lower rate and still offered as a contract role for this particular project.
