Commercial / TradingYour Future PlansOur Back Office US function at RWE Supply & Trading Americas (RWESTA) is responsible for wholesale, contract, and trade settlements in North American markets. This includes confirming and settling deals, calculating and settling nonstandard contracts, as well as validating and processing grid (merchant) settlements.They are also responsible for providing comprehensive and quality checked control within the ‘Trade Lifecycle Process’ across Front Office, Back Office, Risk, Finance, Accounting and Legal, so close cooperation with these areas is key.We have a diverse commodity portfolio including power, ancillary services, renewable energy certificates, and gas. Without Back Office as the operational backbone of the trading business, nothing would work!The RoleDo you have a keen interest in energy markets and working with a hard-working, collaborative team? If so, this could be the opportunity for you!In your new role the key responsibilities will include:Managing contract relationships with external customers by ensuring timely and accurate invoicing across various energy marketsAnalyze revenue sources for proper revenue recognition of electricity sales contracted via Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and merchant energy salesConduct meter validation and confirm shadow calculations are accurate and within toleranceCommunicate and manage validated settlements accrual and invoice data to Revenue Accounting teams for timely and accurate entriesEnhance your expertise in electric market settlements (ex. ERCOT, PJM, MISO, NYISO, etc.)Maintain and enhance all Settlement systems including PCI, ENDUR, and various complex Excel models as well as assist in special projectsManage auditor requests related to revenue and receivables, ensuring timely completion of supporting schedulesYour Powerful SkillsDo you have a keen eye for detail and exceptional relationship management skills? Have you worked in a Settlements / Finance or similar role, within a fast-paced environment?Key requirements include:Minimum 4 years of experience in energy settlement with focus on Power Purchase Agreements, merchant sales and energy hedge transactionsUndergraduate degree in business, math, engineering, environmental sciences, accounting, finance, econ, or related field or relevant work experienceExceptional communication skills as there is frequent contact with the Traders, Schedulers, and Finance, as well as Back Office teams in Swindon and EssenExtremely well organized and detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skillsA self-starter with excellent interpersonal and communication skillsStrong ability to work in a collaborative environmentStrong knowledge of MS Office (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)Eagerness to learn more and take on challenges in a rapidly growing and dynamic environmentEnthusiastic about providing good customer service experience for internal and external customers and willingness to perform knowledge sharing with other team membersAdvantageous, not a mustBasic knowledge of IT software such as PCI, ENDUR, and SAPSoftware integration project experience (i.e. requirements creation, design collaboration, and User Acceptance Testing)Our offerJoin an international leading energy trading house in a huge period of growth.
