Position Overview:

The Digital Content Producer is a key member of TWB's marketing team, responsible for identifying opportunities for marketing content and creating a diverse range of assets, including video, photography, graphics, audio and other multimedia that showcases the artistry and vibrancy of The Washington Ballet and The Washington Ballet School. The role involves capturing photography and video of performances, rehearsals, classes, donor events, and other TWB activities on campus, at performances, and at after-hours events using a variety of equipment, including professional and non-professional (cell phone) equipment that will be provided by TWB. This role may also help direct staged photo shoots, annual headshots, and other content capture throughout the year.

The Digital Content Producer will edit photo, video, and audio content into consumer-facing posts for paid media, social, and organic channels, as well as editing long form content for use elsewhere.

The ideal candidate must be proficient in both photography and videography, with strong editing skills, and a solid understanding of social media trends and digital marketing strategies. The position reports to the Director of Marketing & Communications and requires the flexibility to work non-traditional hours in lieu of a regular, 9-5 weekday schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with marketing colleagues and colleagues across TWB to identify opportunities for content capture for digital assets.

Photograph and film performances, rehearsals, classes, donor events, and other ballet activities.

Identify, shoot, edit and post backstage b-roll.

Conduct annual headshots of company members and staff.

Shoot video of certain performances and events for archival purposes.

Advise on artistic direction and photo/video content creation for season branding campaigns.

Research and stay current on benchmark trends and audience engagement.

Design and implement social media strategy to align with business goals across multiple accounts and platforms.

Align with TWB's brand standards in all content creation.

Set specific objectives and KPIs for digital content as related to overall TWB marketing strategy and report on ROI.

Oversee social media account design (e.g., Facebook timeline cover, profile pictures, and blog layout).

Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness, such as promotions and competitions.

Maintain an organized archive of all photos and videos.

Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and in working order.

Actively participate in creating a work culture that celebrates Diversity, Inclusion, Equity, and Belonging (DEIB).

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Photography, Videography, Visual Arts, Digital Media, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Proven work experience as a digital content producer, photographer, and/or videographer, preferably in performing arts and/or dance.

Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in photography, videography, and digital content creation.

Proficiency with photo and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).

Experience with social media management and content creation tools.

Excellent copywriting skills and ability to deliver creative content (text, image, and video).

Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research, and Google Analytics.

Excellent eye for detail, composition, and lighting.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to work collaboratively and transparently with a diverse team.

Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.

Knowledge of ballet and/or dance is a plus.

Professional Photographers of America (PPA) Certification preferred.
