Legal Entity Controller

Our client is a financial and real estate services company. They seek a Legal Entity Controller to join their Manhattan, NY office.
Responsibilities
Provide legal entity controller and financial support for broker-dealer and SPAC entities
Liaise with Corporate Accounting, Legal, Tax, Treasury, Regulatory Reporting, etc.
Support new and existing transactions and entity structure changes impacting the firm
Handle month-end close process of journal entries associated with investing activities
Prepare quarterly waterfall calculations, wire payments, and other capital transactions
Review quarterly broker-dealer and SPAC financial statements for external financial reporting
File Forms 10-Q and 10-K and other recurring and ad-hoc SEC filings required for SPACs
Perform administrative tasks, including processing wire payments and invoices
Carry out balance sheet substantiation and evaluate the adequacy of expense accruals
Produce analytical reporting including commentary on balance sheet and P&L variances
Requirements
3+ years of accounting experience
SPAC Accounting experience preferred
Big 4/National accounting background
Financial services industry experience
Strong SEC and GAAP knowledge
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
CPA strongly preferred
Skilled in Excel
