Job Description

We are looking for a customer obsessed and results oriented individual to join the Digital Operations Finance Team. This person will leverage their business acumen, strategic partnerships, financial modelling and reporting systems expertise to develop overhead expenses weekly/monthly/quarterly forecasts, own headcount reporting/consolidations, implement bi-annual budgets, create long term plans, perform actuals vs plan variance analysis, report risks & opportunities to leadership, drive month/quarter-end close, support monthly & quarterly business reviews presentation decks, and troubleshoot ad-hoc requests. Additionally, you will also serve as finance lead for weekly KPI reporting and quarterly deliverables for Nordstrom’s app adoption strategy (Branch initiatives).The successful candidate will be a self-starter that excels in storytelling, cross-functional business partnering, and the ability to manage multiple projects/deliverables to completion, and able to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment while also demonstrating a passion for retail.This role is Hybrid, Seattle, WA - you must be willing to come into the office 3 days per week in downtown office - Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.A day in the life…Partner with Business, Finance, and HR leaders to drive month-end close, deliver weekly forecasts, develop financial models, and implement bi-annual/long-term planning for Digital teams, driving fixed expense discipline.Own labor and headcount consolidation across (Digital, Marketing, Credit, Product) teams, driving headcount & expense reporting, monthly & quarterly business reviews presentation decks and best practices in finance teams.Deliver weekly/monthly/quarterly forecasts and tracking actuals of overhead expenses, headcount tracking, communicate R&Os, variance drivers and provide key storylines across the organization to anticipate future trends.Streamline existing reports/models and establish robust processes in order to communicate Corp FP&A the weekly results, storylines and detailed updates to monthly forecasts with a goal of achieving actuals vs forecast variances within or under the “out-of-tolerance” variance threshold established by Corp FP&A for the overall organization.Support close activities like journal entries, accruals, expense reclasses, capitalizations, headcount changes and reporting allocations by closely aligning with key Digital, HR, Finance and Accounting partners.Manage reporting tools – including Anaplan models for planning/forecasting, Workday reports for headcount analysis, Essbase/SmartView to track financial performance, Tableau/SQL for close dashboards and gain overall familiarity with the Nordstrom Analytical Platform (NAP) to understand databases for reporting requirements.Serve as a finance lead for Nordstrom’s app adoption strategy (Branch Initiatives) by providing deliverables with respect to weekly KPI reporting, bi-annual forecasts, app penetration growth trends and monthly/quarterly business decks.Perform ad hoc analyses/new investment projects and clearly communicate findings to support executive decisions.You own this if you have…5+ years of related experience.BA/BS Degree in Accounting or Finance.Excellent computer skills, including MS Excel and PowerPoint; experience with
