The firm provides clients worldwide with customized service and a level of excellence that have become the firm's hallmark in several primary practice areas - ports and harbors; coastal, environmental and water resources; urban waterfronts and marinas; transportation, bridges and rail; inspection and rehabilitation; and energy.Duties and responsibilities:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.Perform analysis, design, inspection of waterfront structures, asset management, submarine systems, and other maritime projectsStructural analysis and design with timber, steel, concrete and composite materialsPrestressed concrete analysis and designDevelop plans, specifications, and calculations as neededHelp resolve design problems that may include performing field investigation or inspections, detailed design work, and detailed checking of design computations done by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects into a projectCalculate construction quantity estimatesWork closely with other architects, engineers, scientists, project managers, etc. on multi-discipline projectsPerform structural site inspections and prepare inspection reportsQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis and 1-5 years of experience in Structural EngineeringOr Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with 0-4 years of experienceEIT requiredEntry level candidates must have internship or cooperative education experience in heavy civil, structural, or marine/waterfront designBackground on structural modeling with nonlinear elements and/or soil-structure interaction preferredPreferred experience using:AutoCADSAP2000STAADLPileMicroStationExcellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)Availability and willingness to travelAll new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171Moffatt & Nichol uses E-Verify and employment is contingent upon the legal ability to obtain employment in the U.S. and to present the required documentation at hireBase salary range:$39.00 to $49.00 per hour based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualification in job description. Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the California markets.Physical requirements:Majority of work is office based.
