Job Title: Director of Learning and Development

Compensation: $155,000 - $185,000 Annual Salary

The base salary or hourly wage range for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. About the Role:

The Director of Learning Content will lead the development and execution of our learning content strategy. This role requires a dynamic leader with experience in restaurant training and instructional design. The Director will oversee a team of content development specialists, instructional designers, and creative media specialists to create comprehensive training programs that support both technical restaurant operations and leadership development.

Responsibilities:

Learning Content Strategy and Development:

Develop and implement a comprehensive learning content strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives.

Oversee the creation and maintenance of high-quality training materials, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training, job aids, SOP documents and other learning resources.

Ensure all training content is engaging, effective, and up-to-date with industry standards.

Team Leadership:

Lead and mentor a team of content development specialists, instructional designers, and creative media specialists.

Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging professional growth and development.

Instructional Design and Adult Learning Theory:

Apply expertise in adult learning theory and the ADDIE model to design effective training programs.

Develop university/academy-style training programs that support the career progression of all employees.

Ensure instructional design practices are learner-centric and support various learning styles.

Technical and Leadership Training:

Oversee the development of technical training content for restaurant operations, including food safety, culinary skills, and guest service.

Develop leadership development training content for all employees, focusing on skills such as communication, coaching and feedback, and emotional intelligence.

Collaboration and Partnership:

Partner with the Field Training and Operations team to ensure seamless rollouts, implementations, and execution of training programs.

Collaborate with Operations, Human Resources and other departments to identify training needs and develop relevant content.

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, making data-driven improvements as needed.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Human Resources, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in instructional design, adult learning theory, and program development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

Proven experience in restaurant training and development.

Expertise in the ADDIE model and other instructional design methodologies.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent communication, organizational, and project management abilities.

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools and learning management systems.
