Become a part of our caring community and help us put health firstThe DoD SkillBridge or Military Spouse Financial Planning & Analysis Lead Intern will utilize Humana's Medicaid training and mentorships and engage formerly acquired skillsets from military experience and education to perform within the finance Medicaid segment.The Financial Planning & Analysis Lead Intern analyzes and forecasts financial, economic, and other data to provide accurate and timely information for strategic and operational decisions. The Financial Planning & Analysis Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.The Financial Planning & Analysis Lead Intern will shadow within the department and among collaborative teams to:Collect, compile, verify, and analyze financial information and economic indicators for senior management's strategic and operational decisions.Analyze the financial implications of proposed investments or other transactions for senior managers to evaluate alternatives against the organization's business objectives.Evaluate industry, economic, financial, and market trends to forecast the organization's financial and competitive position.Analyze revenues, expenses, costs, prices, investments, cash flow, profits, labor market trends, inflation, interest rates, and exchange rates.Advise executives to develop functional strategies on significant matters.Exercise independent judgment and decision-making on complex issues regarding job duties.Required QualificationsTransitioning Service Member eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge, or Military Spouse eligible to participate in the Military Spouse Fellowship Program.Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field.5 or more years of finance and/or accounting experience, or equivalent.Experience advising senior leadership on financial strategies.Knowledge of complex accounting and financial transactions for internal and external reporting.Prior experience developing methods and criteria for measuring and summarizing data for complex analyses.Ability to lead and manage special projects that may necessitate cross-functional partnerships.Preferred QualificationsHealthcare industry experience.2 or more years of leadership experience preferred.Master's degree in Business Administration or a CPA strongly preferred.Prior health insurance industry experience working in Finance/Accounting.Workstyle:
