OverviewThe Senior Accountant is responsible for fixed asset accounting, monthly journal entry work, A/R analysis and reporting, A/P review, and general ledger account analysis.
The candidate is expected to follow a hybrid schedule, with Tuesdays designated as a mandatory in-office workday.
Responsibilities
Preparing standard monthly journal entries
Reviewing non-standard revenue arrangements
Preparing monthly and quarterly AR reports
Investigating accounts receivable cash application issues
Preparing monthly general ledger account analyses for prepaid expense accounts, misc. receivables, accrued liabilities, other income, lease activity, and other areas as assigned
Assisting with preparation for annual financial statement and Single audits
Reconciling operating bank accounts
Entering monthly fixed asset additions data into the fixed asset system
Preparing and posting monthly journal entries for fixed assets
Preparing fixed asset tracking forms and obtaining authorized signatures
Reconciling fixed asset accounts between the fixed assets system and the general ledger
Completing federal procurement compliance forms and communicating with purchasers to obtain authorized signatures
Maintaining records of new vendor excluded party review
Back up for preparing monthly and quarterly state and city tax returns
Reviewing invoices processed and batched for payment
Collaborating with and serving as a resource to the A/P and IT team to address procurement software (Coupa) related issues
Serving as a backup for preparing, reviewing, and distributing the monthly cost center reports
Serving as backup for processing intercompany billings
Serving as backup for accounting and intra-company billings for core lab activities
Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting and an understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
5+ years of accounting experience desired
Single Audit experience a plus
Requires strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office with intermediate skills in Excel
Must be efficient in analyzing data and problem solving
Must be able to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
Must be able to provide clear verbal and written communications and provide exceptional customer service
Compensation$79,680 to $125,100 per year
