Job Description

AECOM

is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer to telecommute/remotely join our team in San Diego, CA, supporting exciting projects that improve community infrastructure. The qualified applicant will have experience in civil engineering and will be familiar with the planning and design of municipal water and/or wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities:

Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations.

Proposes an approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.

Identifies discrepancies in results.

Guides entry level engineers.

Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.

Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.

Tasks may entail the following:

Support projects related to wastewater and water distribution system planning, master planning, asset management and water resources resilience.

Implementation of dynamic hydraulic modeling (extended period and/or static simulations) of water distribution and wastewater collection systems (simultaneous hydraulic modeling of gravity and pressurized portion of sewer systems) serving large metropolitan areas, including model development, update, calibration and validation, via the operation of modeling software such as InfoWorks ICM, InfoWorks CS and/or InfoWater.

Perform data manipulation and development of maps for modeling results representation and documentation with ArcGIS Software.

Develop conceptual design of sewer and water systems including gravity mains, force mains and booster, regional and lift pump stations.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in civil engineering

4+ years of relevant Water industry experience

Operation of modeling software such as InfoWorks ICM, InfoWorks CS, and InfoWater

Additional Information:

Due to the nature of the work U.S. Citizenship is required.

Relocation is not available for this position.

Regular project site travel is required. (up to 25%)
