We are seeking a creative,passionate, and driven professional with a deep understanding of healthcareto join our Strategic Venture Investing team. The team will primarily investin early-stage healthcare companies across technology, care deliverymodels, diagnostics, and devices.The position is in Denver, CO. Travel is anticipated to be 20-30%.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPlease note the following duties and responsibilities generally reflect theexpectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive.Manage venture investing team, which is focused on sourcing and vettinginnovative companies to DaVita Venture FundGuide the strategic direction/focus of fund operations and sourcing effortsWork with team to establish and maintain operating processes and principlesCreate sourcing pipeline that spans across diverse thematic areasIdentify opportunities to bring relevant companies to DaVita leadership andcraft deeper strategic learnings from potential partnershipsBuild strong relationships within DaVita and the external marketNetwork and build strong relationships within DaVita and existing businesslanes to understand strategic priorities and initiativesBecome trusted partner who will be utilized to vet internal diligenceprocessesFacilitate involvement of subject matter experts in diligence and strategicassessmentsDrive market research and support sourcing efforts to help identify newinvestment trends and opportunitiesDeal screening: call and/or meet with prospects, evaluate opportunitiesCultivate a network of venture capital investors and other industry partnersto support sourcing and syndicate creationBe a thought leader, maintaining up-to-date knowledge on industry andtechnology trendsLead DaVita's presence externally by attending and participating at eventsand conferencesLead due diligence and deal execution effortsCoordinate, perform, and assist in diligence efforts, leading managementinterviews and external research to evaluate team, market, competition,product, sales, and growthPerform and oversee financial and valuation analysisDraft internal investment memosCoordinate with internal and external counsel on legal and IP diligenceCollaborate with DaVita stakeholders to build strategic investment rationaleLead and support deal negotiations with target companies and other investorsBe a point of connectivity between portfolio companies and DaVita and supportthe development of customer relationshipsTake Board of Director seat or Board Observer seat in portfolio companiesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree required, MBA preferred8+ years work experience, ideally with exposure to the healthcareindustry, consulting, banking or early-stage investing. Experience in anoperating role in healthcare is also a plusDemonstrated problem-solving, quantitative, and qualitative analysis skillsUnderstanding of clinical, operational, and financial drivers that impacthealthcare organization decision-makingIntellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for the healthcare IT/services industryStrong communication (written, verbal, listening, and presentation) skillsHighly collaborative, pragmatic, and resourceful problem-solver
