Come explore Novanta.SummaryIn this role, you will be part of the Corporate Finance team playing a crucial role in leading data analytics processes and business intelligence (BI) projects, both financial and operational, aligned to overall Company priorities and initiatives. This role will drive multiple transformation projects designed to improve Novanta’s financial management and business operations processes. The candidate must be a “hands-on” leader who enjoys challenges and thrives in a demanding and sometimes underdeveloped environment.Primary ResponsibilitiesLead and organize cross functional teams to complete BI projects that help drive Novanta’s digital transformation. This involves balancing and prioritizing multiple projects at once, influencing decisions, and advancing projects.Solve data and metrics challenges (both financial and operational data), to help automate and enhance analytics of critical company information. This includes data quality improvements, data validation, metric definition and design, and data processes & sourcing.Be a subject matter expert on the data available in our BI tools (examples: sales segmentation, backlog, profit margins, inventory management, pricing, product quality, material purchases, etc.); provide data analytics support for company-wide FP&A processes, including routine and ad hoc reporting.Document user requirements and manage priorities and communication between BI team and the business teams.Analyze complex data (from various sources) and provide insights for users as well as IT team. Identify meta data and master data needed for the successful outcome of BI projects and maintenance of existing BI tools. Establish processes for organizing and maintaining that master/meta data.Support other process improvements across global Finance processes, focusing on data and reporting.Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and CompetenciesBS degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.Broad and deep functional experience in financial planning and analysis, financial management, and data analysis, typically acquired through 5-8 years of experience.Exceptional financial, analytical, and modeling skills.Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently; hands-on individual contributor.Advanced or Intermediate experience using BI tools (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.).Advanced experience using Microsoft Tools (Excel, PPT) and Enterprise Performance Management tools (HFM, Oracle EPM, etc.).Demonstrated success in project management, including scoping, resource and time management, working cross-functionally, and achieving deadlines.Demonstrated problem solving & process improvement experience.Ideally experience in manufacturing sector.Excellent written, verbal, analytical skills; strong interpersonal skills.Self-starter with leader mentality, motivated by curiosity and learning, and thriving in the dynamic and flexible environment of a growing company.Travel RequirementsNone.Physical RequirementsMobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer.Ability to use vision to read computer screen and read printed materials.
