Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical System Design and Release Engineer (DRE) to join our dynamic team. As an Electrical System DRE, you will be responsible for the design, development, and release of electrical systems for our products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers, software engineers, and manufacturing teams to ensure that our electrical systems meet performance, reliability, and cost targets.
Responsibilities:
1. Finalize specifications on components:
1. Connector types, wire gauges, routings, etc.
2. Integration of electrical rack
3. Integration of battery system
4. Design and integration of ancillary devices - breakers, fuses, relays, bus bars, etc.
5. Sensor and cabling selection
2. Selection and layout of electrical cabinet/ panel.
3. Work with system architect and design team to create a feasible design for A sample release - continue to refine for B sample onward.
4. Design and develop electrical systems for various products, including schematic design, component selection, and system integration.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and specifications.
6. Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for proposed electrical system designs.
7. Perform simulation and analysis to validate the performance of electrical systems.
8. Create and maintain documentation related to electrical system design, including schematics, specifications, and test plans.
9. Work closely with suppliers to source components and materials for electrical systems.
10. Lead the release process for electrical systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal quality requirements.
11. Support prototype builds and validation testing of electrical systems.
12. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical system performance or integration.
13. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize the design and development process for electrical systems.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field; master's degree preferred.
2. 5-7 years of experience in electrical system design and development, preferably in the automotive or aerospace industry.
3. Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro).
4. Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, including analog and digital circuit design, power electronics, and signal processing.
5. Experience with simulation tools such as SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or PLECS.
6. Familiarity with automotive electrical architectures and communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
7. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
8. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
9. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding of industry standards and regulations related to electrical systems (e.g., ISO 26262
Compensation: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
