Position Description:

RE Services is seeking a Registered Landscape Architect to join our San Diego team. The individual must have 5-10 years of experience in public works and private development design. This position may include working in the company office in Mission Valley as well as on site, at clients’ offices. The individual will report to the Principal Landscape Architect and will work closely with other company leadership and staff.

Responsibilities:

· Assist in business development tasks, soliciting opportunities with clients, positioning the firm for future work, and maintaining a diverse portfolio of work.

· Prepare project scopes & fees based on input from Clients, outlining processes, tasks, project work schedules, and fee schedules.

· Managing multiple projects from conceptual design through completion of construction documents and as-builts.

· Prepare detailed construction documents including but not limited to site plans, grading design, irrigation & planting plans, construction plans & details, erosion control & revegetation plans, site furnishings, play equipment, pavings & furnishings, specifications, cost estimates, etc.

· Provide Design Support During Construction, confirming construction is compliant with the intent of the design and contract documents; review paving mock-ups for architectural acceptance, paving joint layouts; review & approval of materials, finishes and layout for architectural structures & features, site furnishings, grading & drainage, irrigation, plants, planting materials, etc.; conduct landscape inspections, prepare observation reports, track landscape construction progress, etc.

· Inspect landscape and irrigation projects in construction phase, submitting daily reports summarizing activities, pay items, and non-conformance matters, reviewing pay requests, change orders, and preparing inspection reports.

· Set priorities, prepare project schedules and work on multiple projects in a team-based environment focused on timely delivery and quality.

· Lead teams and supervise staff to deliver projects that meet deadlines and budget requirements.

· Be self-motivated with the ability and desire to lead others in the design and construction documentation and construction observation tasks.

· Engage and retain clients.

· Mentor and develop junior staff.

· Provide fresh perspectives and be a creative problem solver.

· Provide technical assistance and coordinate with clients and other professional disciplines on individual projects.

Qualifications:

· RLA license (California) required.

· 5-10 years of experience.

· Must demonstrate strong skills in all aspects of a project design phase including conceptual design, construction documentation, permitting, multi-disciplinary coordination, project management, and construction administration.

· Must possess strong design graphic skills across a variety of mediums.

· Must have a strong base of knowledge of construction detailing and methodologies.

· Must be capable of working with allied disciplines and consultants through all project phases from concept through construction.

· Must be proficient in AutoCAD, LandFX, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite.

· Preferred but not required skills: Bentley Microstation, Rhino3D, Lumion.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
