Director, TISC Budget Controller

The Budget Controller will manage and control OPEX (US$ 300 MM) and Capex (US$ 35 MM) budgets for the global Technical, Innovation and Supply Chain (TISC) function (a complex and global organization with 10 departments and over 1000 associates), as well as handling reporting (SEC letters, ESG reporting, RFAs, LRP, ABP, RE, actuals, etc.) and supporting TISC stakeholders for projects budget management (over US$ 100 MM overall, included in OPEX budgets), regional R&D centers budgeting and FTE budgeting and reporting.

This position will also handle strategic but also detailed budget discussions and presentations to TISC leadership team and will liaison with Platform Service and other global finance functions, within and outside TISC, to ensure proper budget discipline and efficiency, automated and digitized as much as possible, and that OPEX/Capex are invested in line with TISC Strategic Objectives and Big Rocks.

What You’ll Do for Us:

Strategic and detailed OPEX/Capex budget discussions and presentations to TISC LT, in line with TISC Strategic Objectives and Big Rocks.

Control and manage TISC OPEX and Capex daily budgets for 10 departments.

Handle TISC reporting (SEC letters, ESG, RFAs, LRP/BP/RE/actual financial reporting).

TISC projects and contracts financial management.

Drive collaboration with TISC multiple stakeholders, other finance functions within and outside TISC, and work seamlessly with Platform Services while driving process automation and digitization.

Communication complexities:

Highly complex organization (over 1000 associates across 10 departments and multiple sub-functions, with stakeholders from various backgrounds such as SRA, QSE, R&D, Innovation, Supply Chain, etc.).

Global function with associates in multiple locations around the world.

Fast moving, changing and expanding TISC structure (tripled in size since 2020).

Communications range from strategic budget discussions with senior management to daily budget/project/activity management with junior associates.

Analysis:

Financial management of projects is unique to TISC, across different functions, and requires specific processes and support to stakeholders with a technical background but limited finance expertise.

Job requires the finance manager to be a change agent, driving for improved processes, leveraging automation and digitization opportunities but also improving internal communication, collaboration and role sort across various participants in the budget management processes.

Judgement and Decision Making:

Job covers daily budget management and reporting, ensuring that budget owners are aware of spend trends and that there are no budget overruns, and also covers strategic discussions with budget owners about budget prioritization and choices as financial resources are finite.

Finance controller is solely responsible and accountable for budget controls (no budget overspend), internal controls, accounting records and budget reporting, ensuring that information/data/reports from Platform Services/Genpact are correct.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Although the finance controller has no direct report, the position oversees work done by Platform Services support associates and Genpact associates.
