POSITION SUMMARY

The Frontier Justice Head of Merchandising and Direct Procurement’s primary role is to drive sales and profitability within assigned product categories to meet the company’s financial objectives. This role will be strategic and results-driven, ensuring the right product is in the right place at the right time. Category management scope will include, but not limited to, firearms, ammunition, and related accessories. The Head of Merchandising will have a strong background in retail merchandising and category management, ideally in the firearms industry. This role collaborates closely with the planning, visual merchandising, procurement and operations teams to meet and exceed EBIT targets.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute scalable strategies to drive sales and improve margin for assigned product categories that optimizes for long-term success.Supervise merchandising for multiple store locations, ensuring the correct product mix, displays, and planograms for each store.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and planning and supply chain, to align category strategies with overall business objectives.Develop product assortments and sku-level purchase and pricing plans.Create and manage purchase orders.Analyze sales data, inventory levels, and customer feedback to monitor category performance and identify opportunities for improvement.Forecast sales and demand for assigned categories, develop inventory plans, and manage replenishment to ensure optimal in-stock levels and minimize excess inventory.In conjunction with Planning, manage product prices and inventory levels.Drive internal initiatives to meet and exceed financial goals.Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape within assigned categories.Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape within assigned categories.Develop and implement promotional plans, product launches, and marketing campaigns to drive traffic and increase sales within assigned categories.Initiate, structure and negotiate for partnerships with both new and existing vendors. Create business plans for new opportunities and develop and execute project plans for the launch, and long-term operationsNegotiate and manage vendor relationships, including product selection, pricing, terms, and promotional opportunities, to optimize profitability and ensure a competitive assortment.Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to identify new product opportunities and innovative merchandising strategies.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Retail Management, or a related field (preferred).

5+ years of experience in retail merchandising, category management, or related roles, with a proven track record of success in driving sales and profitability.

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret sales data, market trends, and financial metrics to inform decision-making.

Experience with business analysis and P&L management.

Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and partners.

Business partnership skills, able to collaborate, influence and work as part of a matrix organization.

Strategic thinking and vision.

Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze data from different sources, turning complex data into simple stories.

Flexibility to travel as needed to visit stores, attend trade shows, and meet with vendors.
