Accounting Manager

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing all accounting functions for contracting, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, and implementing procedures to enhance efficiency with contracts. This candidate will also be responsible for all contracting billing and reporting, all accounts receivables. This role requires a strong understanding of each stage of contract administration and maintaining contract-related documents and correspondence. Account manager’s duties will include maintaining existing accounts, developing new accounts, and coordinating with the sales team.
Duties and Responsibilities
The job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Responsible for all contact billing and reporting as well as all accounts receivables.
Stay informed about FAR clauses related to DOD contract billings and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Ensures compliance with complex financial reporting requirements.
Ensures compliance with DOD contract reporting requirements.
Perform job costing analysis for Department of Defense (DoD) contracts, ensuring accurate allocation of expenses and compliance with government regulations. Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
Collaborate directly with the EVP on all contract billing issues.
Ensure timely payments to vendors and consultants related to contracts and setup and invoices on all monthly billings. Ensures compliance with regulatory reporting requirements related to contracts.
Provide monthly profit and loss (P&L) reports on each contract to management. Perform balance sheet reconciliations and review journal entries. Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity and publish financial statements within established timelines and oversees accounts payables regarding contracts.
Setup internal documents, complete documents, and ensure compliance with online portals for Subcontractors/Partners,
Approves contract related vendors/subs/commissions/travels as well as employee travel reimbursements /advances.
Manage all accounting transactions and ensure accurate financial records for contracts.
Utilize QuickBooks for daily accounting transactions and financial reporting, also utilize accounting software to manage financial transactions and reporting.
Oversee timely bank payments and manage cash flow.
Execute risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate financial risks associated with contracts and operations.
Audit financial transactions and documents for accuracy and compliance.
Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Conduct financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
Provide guidance on financial concepts to non-financial team members.
Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a high-performance culture.
Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and industry trends to ensure company organization remains compliant and competitive.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or a related field (preferred).
Strong knowledge of government contracting audits, financial compliance, and regulatory reporting standards.
Proficient in accounting software, specifically QuickBooks, and Excel for financial analysis, reporting, and data management.
Extensive experience in auditing for Department of Defense (DoD) and government contracting, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and contract requirements.
Solid understanding of financial concepts and principles, including GAAP.
Familiarity with DCCA (Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs) regulations and compliance requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
