Data Mesh Program and Product Owner/Enterprise Data DeliveryThe Enterprise Chief Data & Analytics Officer at Northern Trust is looking for a data leader to serve as the Data Mesh Program and Product Owner. This is a key role enabling the Data Strategy at Northern Trust that is at the forefront of the Data Modernization initiative.Responsible for managing the complex, large scale, enterprise-wide Technical Construct (the Data Mesh) with multiple components and work streams. This involves delivery of critical strategic business capabilities and data that impacts multiple business units or disciplines. The Data Mesh/Marketplace Product Owner manages the program to successful outcome and sustainability. This role is responsible for aligning resources, releases, and tracking key milestones/risks/dependencies while overseeing the budget and creating value stream roadmaps. This is the key driver to ensure Implementation of the Data Mesh and Data Marketplace to support Data Modernization.The key responsibilities of the role include:Focus of role is on execution and enablement of the Data Modernization program through management and ownership of the Data Mesh and Data Marketplace constructs.Work with business unit executive leadership to refine and implement the operating model that supports the Data Mesh and Data Modernization principles.Focus efforts on enablement within and across all Corporate Functions and Business units partnering with the CDOs and their teams in a complex organization to prioritize the delivery of business needs.Manage and prioritize an enterprise-wide backlog of features and prioritize implementation.Capture requirements for platform and marketplace features/capabilities and feed them into the agile product development cycle.Bring a process improvement mindset to manage and optimize the Data Mesh Operating model.Provide project management focus to key initiatives being executed within the data mesh ecosystem.Develop processes that increase and support adoption of the Data Mesh and demonstrate the value.Construct and communicate strategic roadmap that contains customer, operational, project and service objectives.Lead others to solve complex business and technical problems in a matrixed environment.Skills/Qualifications:Seasoned expert with data program management expertise that has been developed over 8+ years of experience.Experience documenting and communicating complex concepts.Proven experience owning a product or program ensuring high value for its consumers.Leadership and organizational skills are required to determine the complex and key goals, structure, budget and resource need.People Management skills to assess and develop the skills of staff.Strong teamwork skills to drive execution without direct reporting line responsibilities.Requires knowledge of the Data Mesh construct and ability to refine and implement a vision.Interprets internal/external business and technical challenges and recommends best practices to improve experience of Data Publishers and Data Consumers.Communicates difficult concepts and negotiates with others to adopt a different point of view related to Data.Uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgement and identify innovative solutions.Working Model:
