The primary role of the Senior Program Coordinator in our unit involves oversight of study lifecycles. This includes reviewing and drafting study budgets, negotiating budgets, reviewing, and providing input on the Clinical Trials Coverage Analysis, updating and reporting cancer-related clinical trial data in two mandatory federal systems, and working closely with Clinical Research Services (CRS) to complete study-specific tasks to facilitate study activation, including all of the above tasks when they pertain to study modifications. In addition, this role provides ancillary services such as assisting in the development of policies and procedures for teams in CRS and helps our principal investigators determine if it is feasible to do a study at the site.Experience and EducationBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Education/Social Science, or related field, and seven (7) years of experience in the appropriate field required.Two (2) years in a supervisory capacity preferred.Additional related work experience may be considered in lieu of stated minimum education on a year-for-year basis.Job DutiesDirects, analyzes, coordinates, and evaluates program operation and procedures.Develops and/or oversees the development of the budget for the program. Develops, cultivates, and maintains working relationships with internal/external departments/agencies and other organizations associated with and/or receiving benefit from the program.Establishes program goals and objectives and directs program evaluation and quality control activities; develops and/or approves schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals.Recommends new policies and procedures for improvement of program activities.Plans and coordinates special events and participates in conferences; presents data and program information.Responsible for the design, execution, and effectiveness of a system of internal controls, which provide reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded, and financial information is reliable.Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.Coordinates training and development of staff as necessary.
