We're a technology company that leads with our humanity-driving our business priorities alongside meaningful social, community, and societal impact.Role Overview:As a member of the Americas Major and Markets Leadership Team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the organization's productivity by streamlining strategic initiatives, overseeing program management, and helping to establish operational rhythms that enable effective and efficient team performance. You will be an integral part of the leadership team, providing synthesized business perspectives that influence key strategic decisions. This role requires strong decision-making skills, deep organizational knowledge, and the ability to build robust relationships across the company. You will work closely with senior management to ensure the successful execution of both immediate priorities and long-term goals.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Advisor - Act as a thought leader and sounding board for the Americas Major Accounts Leadership team, working both strategically and tactically to support business goals and key initiatives.Operational Efficiency - Improve existing processes and coordinate organizational procedures to optimize efficiency and productivity, including driving review processes, regular business updates, scorecards, and organizational communication.Decision Support - Proactively identify and prioritize issues that impede business success, offering solutions and facilitating decision-making processes.Sales Forecasting - Manage and report accurate sales forecasts for the Majors & Markets organization by collaborating with sales teams, analyzing data, and providing insights to executive leadership.Sales Target Setting - Collaborate with sales executive leadership to define sales targets, ensuring alignment with business goals and individual contributor sales territories and quotas.Project Management - Drive the completion of deliverables requested by Sales Operations, Finance, and other supporting functions, focusing on clear communication, quality feedback, and meeting established deadlines.Weekly Operations Reporting - Consolidate and produce a Weekly Operations Report, synthesizing relevant information from sales leaders' reports to create an executive-level summary for the Americas sales region.Presentation Support - Prepare presentation materials for business reviews, internal and external presentations, and keynotes, ensuring content is compelling, tailored, and aligned with executive messaging objectives.Event Coordination - Work with M&M executive leadership to coordinate and facilitate internal regional quarterly Business Reviews and All-Hands meetings, including agenda setting, content compilation, and meeting management.Strategic Development - Collaborate with the GM and VP to identify and develop strategic business development goals, synthesizing data into clear, actionable messages for various Regions and Hubs.Confidentiality - Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion.Skills and Requirements:Proven leadership, management, experience, and/or project management skills in business operations, with a strong analytical and quantitative skill set focused on organizational efficiency.Ability to influence and advise sales leadership and supporting functions on complex business topics.Insight into current market trends and experience with budget management.Demonstrated ability to monitor operations proactively and address potential issues.Experience in reporting success metrics to show measurable results.Strong communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across teams.Exceptional attention to detail and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce, and Microsoft Power BI.High integrity, professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple high-profile projects simultaneously.7+ years of experience in business or executive management roles, with a proven track record in planning and leading strategic initiatives.Master's degree in Business Administration or a related field is preferred.This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to Ciena's ongoing success by driving strategic initiatives, enhancing operational efficiency, and influencing key decisions at the highest levels of the organization.The annual pay range for this position is $135,800 - $224,200 USD.Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
