SUMMARY

Under the supervision of and reporting to the Senior Development Director, the Director of Donor Relations oversees the development, coordination, and execution of the Fund Development Plan of River Bend Food Bank’s service area, ensuring that contributed revenue goals are met to enable the operation of the Food Bank by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include, but are not limited to, the following:

Ensure the achievement of aggressive fundraising goals and manage a large portfolio of individual and corporate donors and prospective donors.

Plan, coordinate, and implement the strategies for the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors in assigned portfolio that align with the Fund Development Plan.

Work collaboratively in a team environment to match unique funding needs with donors’ interests.

Schedule and execute a minimum number of face-to-face meetings with donors each month as determined by the Senior Development Director.

Maintain and analyze procedures for qualifying and tracking prospects and for recording and reporting gifts and provide a weekly activity report showing progress on donor visits, interactions, and solicitations to the Senior Development Director.

Assist in the planning and implementation of special events to prospect, cultivate and recognize donors.

Assist in the development and implementation of the Fund Development Plan annual budget to align with the budget approved by the Board of Directors.

Cultivate positive relations with agencies, program participants, Food Bank staff, volunteers, donors, the media, public officials, and members of the public with a goal to expand services across the service area.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in fundraising, philanthropic studies, marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field, plus 3-5 years’ experience in fundraising, fund development or sales preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Demonstrated ability to ask for money and secure significant financial gifts required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Ability to prioritize and organize tasks, meet deadlines, and multi-task effectively.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to effectively present information and speak to groups of individuals, including employees, Board members and members of the public.

Ability to work well independently in a team environment.

Accurate typing and data entry skills.

Willingness to support the mission of the organization and to help end hunger in our area.

Ability to travel throughout the Food Bank’s service area as needed, with occasional out of town and overnight travel required.

Ability to work flexible hours, as needed, occasionally outside of regular business hours for special events and to support fundraising efforts.

Possession of a valid driver's license and insurable driving record.

Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment criminal background investigation and credit check.
