Role Summary

Advatix™ is looking for a Director of Transportation to join our swiftly growing team. The Director of Transportation is the subject matter expert (SME) for all transportation solutions and is a vital solutions team member. The Director of Transportation will report to the Chief Solutions Officer and serve as an executive team advisor. They will be responsible for establishing and overseeing the development of strategies supporting the company’s growing transportation operations.

Key Responsibilities

Establish, in partnership with the senior leadership team, multi-year transportation growth strategies aligned with company-wide strategic and capital allocation priorities and initiatives.

Work with the commercial teams to demonstrate credibility and drive the development of best-fit solutions for Advatix’s™ customer base.

Ensure the seamless transition from planning to execution via the CLO, adjusting as market conditions change and evolve.

Communicate transportation strategy, tactical priorities, and performance expectations across the transportation organization.

Research growth opportunities using internal and external reporting, forecasts, and market analysis.

Work with the technology team as an SME in defining requirements for the next generation of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) for the Advatix™ CloudSuite™ (ACS) Platform.

Lead cost/benefit analysis and risk assessments to evaluate the feasibility and profitability of potential external partnerships.

Identify risk reduction measures through effective risk mitigation programs.

Manage external partners strategically with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.

Collaborate with internal general counsel and cross-functional leadership to develop contractual agreements with external partners.

Partner with cross-functional leadership to enhance processes, allocate resources, and drive execution.

Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in transportation, logistics, supply chain, or a related field; master’s degree in supply chain or a related field is preferred.

A minimum of ten years of experience in the industry with a minimum of seven years of leadership experience.

Previous experience with a private company or a significant business unit, preferably with a complex transportation, fleet ops, and logistics footprint.

Knowledge of business scaling situations focused on significant growth and potential change.

Strong insight into driving continuous improvement and operational experience.

Recognized as a transportation “guru.”

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software with at least a basic understanding of data analytics.

Experience with WMS and TMS design and development and broad knowledge of transit tracking.

Strong leadership and management skills.
