Vice President of Program Development - Army .This role has the option of being remote, priority will be placed on hybrid availability in the Orlando, FL area.WHAT YOU WILL DO:This is a senior level position crucial to the continued success and growth of the company. The successful candidate will be a high performing individual capable of independently representing the company and furthering its goals consistent with guidance from the executive team. The Vice President of Program Development will report directly to the Senior Vice President, Program Development. This critical role will be responsible for all aspects and phases of Engineering Services Division program development to include pipeline development, strategic capture, and proposal development of Army opportunities. This role will lead efforts to identify, qualify, and capture specific opportunities as well as the generation of qualified pipeline growth to support Phoenix Defense forecast and plan. This position will also develop and recommend needed teaming arrangements to support the capture strategy. In addition, for key opportunities, this person will be responsible for all aspects of proposal preparation including staffing and technical solutions, compliance with solicitation requirements, writing relevant sections of the proposal not requiring specific functional expertise, leading color team reviews, and managing proposal timelines. Finally, this position will recommend and implement Business Development (BD) and marketing strategies to achieve maximum customer and market penetration and to drive tactical and strategic growth.Maintain key business development contacts with current and potential customers.Grow and qualify the opportunity pipeline, to include existing as well as adjacent markets/customers, through diligent and timely identification/qualification of new business opportunities by leveraging current technologies, customer intimacies, and inter and intra-company collaboration.Lead in the identification, qualification, and pursuit of strategic business opportunities.Identify and develop needed teaming arrangements to support capture strategy.Serve as capture manager for assigned opportunities. Capture manager duties include oversight of staffing and technical solution development as well as proposal preparation.Establish, build, and maintain customer relationships and assess competitor capabilities aligned to specific customers across a diverse portfolio, while maintaining existing client relationships.Direct the development of short- and long-range objectives and recommends goals to higher management.Define vision, strategies, and tactics for assigned business development opportunities.Oversee market analysis, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs.Work with Leadership to create capability roadmaps and capital investments necessary to create discriminators for new business.Become a subject matter expert on Phoenix Defense business products, processes, and operations, and remain up to date on industry developments.ABOUT YOU:Bachelor's or MBA degree and/or equivalent significant work experience within related field.Minimum of 10 years' experience with business/program development within the military training and simulation business area.Experience and familiarity with Department of Defense organization, customers, and programs, particularly with PEO STRI and other significant Army training and simulation customers.Maintains exceptional knowledge of government contracting and acquisition practices.Demonstrated successful capture & proposal experience for significant (>$50M) capture efforts.Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.Recognized ability to build relationships with senior level customers, prospective teammates (in both prime and subcontract roles) and internal counterparts.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications to include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.Good understanding of the industry, with the ability to become a subject matter expert on the job.Innovation and problem-solving skills that include the ability to develop and propose PLI solutions for clients.Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.Ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance.U.S. Citizenship is required.KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES AND OTHER CONTRIBUTIONS:Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
