Job DescriptionSummary:

The Supervisor, Pricing Analytics is responsible for supervising, mentoring, and managing the work of the pricing analyst staff. Responsibilities include responding to pricing-specific request for proposal (RFP) questions, identifying financial needs of prospective or renewing clients, requesting and analyzing financial reports, performing underwriting analysis functions, and quantifying the impact of various pricing structures on pharmacy utilization and costs. This position has direct reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Perform and lead associates in pricing/underwriting and modeling for prospects/renewal clients by creating competitive financial packages.

Document and track day-to-day pricing activities to ensure efforts are dedicated to winning and retaining business.

Maintain accurate records of direct report assignments in SharePoint.

Ensure timely delivery of all assigned Pricing Team projects, tasks, and requests.

Document details, capabilities, and features of each underwriting tool used by the team.

Facilitate development of the team’s financial models.

Manage day-to-day tasks assigned to pricing analyst staff.

Ensure that pricing team policies and procedures are accurately maintained.

Partner with department leaders to distribute staff workload appropriately.

Triage escalated issues identified by the pricing analysts.

Facilitate and manage consistent flow of information to the pricing team.

Administer the process used to track pricing offers.

Develop, maintain, and communicate the strategy for responding to requests for pricing offers.

Interpret and analyze historical claims utilization.

Calculate potential client savings between pricing structures.

Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses to support various teams.

Provide consultation to clients and peers regarding trends and forecasting.

Participate in development and implementation of initiatives to improve processes.

Manage direct reports in accordance with company policies.

Lead and mentor staff to improve skill set and career potential.

Education and/or ExperienceBachelor’s degree in a quantitative based field such as Math, Statistics, Finance, or Accounting along with 5+ years of proven quantitative experience, preferably with PBM pricing or actuarial experience. Previous Pharmacy Benefit Management, healthcare, or managed care experience highly preferred.

1 year of supervisory experience required; 3 years of MedImpact experience plus an appropriate external leadership training program may substitute for the supervisory experience requirement.

Computer SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Access and SQL. Good working knowledge of MS Word/Outlook as well as relational databases.
