Research Grants Coordinator

you will beworking in theCenter for Advancing Population Science.

PurposeDevelops grant applications, grant-budget preparation and financial monitoring/reporting, and subcontract preparation and monitoring; while maintaining federal and state compliance laws. Areas of oversight will include research involving human subjects, laboratory animals, environmental safety issues, and other non-financial compliance requirements related to sponsored research and grants management.

Primary FunctionsIn this role, you will be an integral member of the Center for Advancing Population Science, collaborating to prepare and submit grants to various extramural funding sources. This opportunity uniquely exposes you to the academic medical center environment and learning across finance, research, extramural funding, and compliance. The ideal candidate will practice strategic thinking, creativity, and attention to detail, be dependable, multitask, and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment. In addition, the ideal candidate meets deadlines, enjoys working in a highly collaborative setting, adapts easily to changing tasks, and operates comfortably with a degree of autonomy in their work. Responsibilities include:Work closely with the Division Administrator, the Grants and Contracts office, and Principal Investigators, as well as related matrix department relationships to ensure accountability compliance, and accuracy in grant budgets, grant submissions in eBridge, and perform other related duties.Serve as a liaison between faculty, MCW departments, centers, and external collaborative constituents regarding the processing of research grants and assist with resolution of pre and post-award issues.Organize/coordinate research activities and communications.Lead in the administrative organization, development of timeline, analysis of required forms, and responses of Request for Approval (RFA) and/or proposal calls for routine and complex grant mechanisms.Verify grant is in compliance with grant source requirements Provide assistance and tracking of grant and contract mechanisms, including funding announcement, internal management of proposals, internal review, and awarding functions.Collaborate with Clinical Trials Office on clinical research initiatives as needed.Oversee the collection, analysis, and dissemination of research data and grant proposal development. Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive databases and files related to the grant submissions.Maintain program timeline including tracking deadlines for grant components such as submission deadlines, funding cycles, timelines for annual reports, etc.Identify problems or obstacles in the system/procedures related to the administration of the funding proposals/funded proposals and communicate to the appropriate faculty/staff.Coordinate meetings and grant tracking information for large programmatic or multiple PI grant projects.Knowledge - Skills - Abilities

Knowledge of pre and post-award grant process, sponsor requirements, funding mechanisms, computers, clerical procedures, customer service standards, collaboration, and information management. Organization, time management, interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
