The Environmental Sustainability Director is responsible for the strategic leadership, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of SkyWater’s Environmental and Sustainability programs. This role focuses on ensuring compliance, enhancing sustainability initiatives, managing environmental risks, and driving a proactive approach to Environmental and Sustainability programs through innovative solutions and stakeholder engagement.Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership

Provide direct leadership and strategic direction for all Environmental and Sustainability programs, processes, metrics, and solutions at SkyWater.Develop and execute comprehensive Environmental and Sustainability strategies and set targets that align with SkyWater’s overall goals and objectives and with stakeholder expectations.Represent SkyWater in environmental forums, industry groups, and with regulatory bodies to advocate for sustainable practices and policies.Lead community outreach programs and partnerships that promote environmental education and sustainability.Stay updated on environmental laws, regulations, and trends to ensure SkyWater remains compliant and proactive in its sustainability efforts.

Sustainability Initiatives

Lead the development and execution of sustainability initiatives to reduce SkyWater’s environmental footprint, including carbon footprint and air emissions reduction, energy efficiency, waste reduction, and water conservation programs.Identify technological and strategic GHG reduction opportunities in SkyWater’s operations and value chain, and integrate them into strategic roadmaps.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote sustainability initiatives and improve environmental performance.Champion the adoption of sustainable practices across all levels of the organization and integrate sustainability goals into business strategies, providing training and resources to employees.

Risk Management and Compliance

Conduct environmental risk assessments, manage due diligence, and oversee permit management processes.Oversee environmental compliance programs, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations and standards.Prepare regular Environmental and Sustainability progress, risk management, and compliance reports.

Technical Advisory Support

Provide technical advisory support to key stakeholders, monitoring and reporting on environmental performance and providing recommendations for improvement.Support and maintain SkyWater’s environmental management system (ISO 14001) and continual improvements to SkyWater’s environmental performance.Support measurement, monitoring, and reporting of GHG inventories and progress against targets (e.g. SBTi).Monitor GHG accounting protocols, protocol changes, and interpretations of GHG accounting rules, and translate GHG accounting requirements into actionable practices.Advise on appropriate use of offsets.

Required Qualifications:Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience.Extensive experience in environmental management and sustainability, with a proven track record of implementing successful initiatives. Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with ISO14001, and experience with testing equipment.Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability best practices.Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to be proactive, resourceful, responsive, and efficient.Strong collaboration skills to interact across all levels of the organization and with suppliers and customers.Exceptionally organized and detail oriented, and a high-level of accuracy in work.Exceptional project planning and management skills.Ability to demonstrate sound and independent judgment, strategic thinking, and problem-solving.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize and reprioritize among same.Resourcefulness and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Desire and aptitude for learning new concepts on the job and taking on new responsibilities.U.S. Person Required:
