WFAE is seeking an experienced leader with broadcast production, content creation, and supervisory skills to lead the Charlotte Talks team. The Executive Producer manages and directs all aspects related to the production of Charlotte Talks, including recruiting, hiring, and supervising a staff of producers, host/guest hosts, and weekly roundup guests. The Executive Producer is also responsible for producing/engineering episodes of Charlotte Talks – WFAE’s signature daily news and public affairs talk show – ensuring that guests and topics reflect the diversity of the Charlotte region and consistently speak to the intellectual curiosity and civic engagement of the WFAE audience. Occasional night and weekend work may be required.Key Responsibilities:Lead long-range vision planning for Charlotte Talks in collaboration with the Host and Program Director.Lead and oversee daily production for Charlotte Talks in addition to producing some editions of the show.Serve as lead technical director for execution of daily editions of Charlotte Talks.Lead production and execution of live Charlotte Talks and Public Conversation events.Work with WFAE’s digital team to maintain and grow Charlotte Talks’ presence on digital platforms.Assess program quality and work with staff to ensure high-quality daily production.Represent Charlotte Talks in WFAE News meetings.Assist WFAE newsroom in identifying and preparing excerpts of the show for other broadcast purposes.Participate in station fundraising activities.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field and/or at least 7+ years of relevant experience.Demonstrated ability to perform under daily deadline pressure.Experience operating live broadcast equipment.Experience with broadcast announcing preferred.Strong managerial and interpersonal skills; this role is a people leader within WFAE.Excellent writing and communication skills.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple duties, with minimum supervision in a team environment.Experience working successfully in matrixed environments.Department:

WFAE offers a comprehensive benefits package, and the Executive Producer will be compensated with a competitive base salary based on professional experience.Salary Range:
