The Yondr Program facilitates the successful implementation of phone-free school environments by providing administrators and teachers with education, training, and development resources, along with all necessary equipment. In addition, Yondr supports top artists in music and comedy by creating phone-free shows, allowing performers and audience members to enjoy live performances without the distraction of phones.Yondr’s Communications Manager will elevate our media presence and strengthen our public relations efforts. This person will be responsible for enhancing our media profile, building and maintaining media relationships, and leading impactful PR campaigns. The ideal candidate will be skilled in executing effective media outreach strategies, and managing PR initiatives that align with Yondr’s goals.Key Responsibilities:Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with company goalsManage all press inquiries and relationships with mediaCreate and manage media connections with top-tier print and broadcast outlets, podcasts, and other media to land creative storylines showcasing Yondr’s success and valuePromote high-quality media coverage. Actively engage with journalists to brief them on our business and correct inaccuracies in their reportingTrack Yondr media coverage and share a daily report with all mentions, and any other relevant coverageSupport events, including internal company updates, press events, and press announcementsDevelop communications onboarding materials for new partners implementing phone-free spaces, including press release templates and FAQ for media inquiriesCoach Yondr executives and partners for media opportunities and speaking engagementsCollaborate with internal stakeholders to find stories to tell and ensure that our target markets are well-informed about Yondr’s activitiesEnsure standardized processes and routines are in place for high-quality outputContribute your own initiatives and suggestions to enhance our communications strategyQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, public affairs, or equivalent4+ years as a media relations expert skilled in building press connections and achieving outstanding media results both proactively and reactivelyAgency experience is a plusStartup experience is a plusEducation sector experience is a plusDesirable Skills:A keen eye for newsworthy stories and the ability to generate headlinesA driven self-starter who thrives in dynamic, fast-changing environmentsExtremely detail-oriented with a talent for excellent execution in a fast-paced setting.A proactive approach, ready to embrace a dynamic and demanding role beyond conventional boundariesFlexibility and resilience to handle spontaneous challenges and changes without stressA hands-on attitude, eager to dive deep into tasks and contribute actively
