POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of the Vice President of Human Resources (VP of HR), the People and Culture Director is responsible for providing expertise and support in the areas of Performance Management, Employee Relations, Employee Engagement, Diversity and Inclusion, and Policy and Procedure Development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintains knowledge of and enforces compliance with all laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law and human resources.

Supports and counsels employees in addressing workplace issues and acts as a liaison between employees and supervisors.

Provides guidance and makes recommendations for successful resolution of personnel and performance issues, in accordance with Aunt Martha’s Health & Wellness (AMHW) policy and applicable laws.

Oversees and assists with discipline documentation and processes to ensure timely, consistent, and appropriate intervention.

Responsible for the internal investigation process, following the investigation process through to completion, including the development of a final summary outlining key findings and recommendations for review by Senior, Executive and/or Legal Management. Maintains a tracking system on the outcome of all investigations in a confidential and organized manner, including all supporting documentation.

Responsible for the oversight and management of unemployment claims, including investigating and responding to claims and attending unemployment hearings as required.

Builds partnerships with Supervisors (at all levels) to coach, mentor, and positively influence employee relations and workforce culture by ensuring resolution of employment-related matters in a proactive manner.

Manages the performance evaluation process.

Develops and administers the exit interview program, conducting exit interviews, collecting and analyzing data, developing performance improvement initiatives, and escalating findings and trends to upper management.

Creates and/or updates agency/department policies, procedures, and guidelines as necessary.

Completes core curriculum training(s) and all other required trainings specific to this position.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.

3 - 5 years of human resource experience required, with experience in workplace investigations and employee relations highly preferred.

Proven experience in change management within a highly complex environment with multiple, geographically dispersed locations.

Extensive working knowledge/experience of federal and state employment laws is required.

Ability to communicate, interact, and work effectively and cooperatively with all people, including those from diverse backgrounds.

Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution and must be a consultative problem solver.

SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP strongly preferred.
