Introduction to the job

Are you our new Quality Supplier Manager, that will engage our suppliers to drive for Zero-Defects and the next level of Supplier Quality Performance? The Quality Supplier Manager (QSM) works in the department Sourcing and Supply Chain Management representing ASML’s Quality logistics interface to its supply base, responsible for the Material Availability for our ASML factories.

With today’s complex multi-tier supply chains, this is only possible by creating full transparency in the chains and flexibility at suppliers. Here over 100 chains are managed up to seven tiers deep, addressing potential bottlenecks and supply risks before they impact our customers. It must handle the increased complexity of ASML’s systems while reducing cost of ownership for customers. To do this, the supply chain- and logistics engineers work with suppliers to continuously reduce cycle times for components, modules and assemblies, increasing supply chain flexibility and customer value. Also the suppliers’ quality, flexibility, cycle time reductions, move rate compliance and on-time delivery reliability are monitored, driving supplier development in all areas. This to ensure ASML’s supply keeps pace with technological developments and can adapt to changing market conditions.

Role and responsibilities

The QSM is responsible for supplier’s performance and development to improve operational excellence and to meet the ever-increasing business demands, by assessing following key focus quality areas, as stated in the ASML Supplier Profile:

Quality Management System

Operational Excellence

Quality Control

Complaint Handling

Configuration and Change Management

While using your knowledge in quality management, analytical thinking, professional network and excellent people skills, you will be responsible for the following:

Quality Assurance: Improve supplier quality performance by driving execution of existing quality agreements and improvement actions by your Suppliers, as well as triggering internal actions for changes in product or process design to eliminate Material Notification (MN’s) and Deviation Notifications (DN’s)

Participate in Supplier Audits to identify gaps in supplier quality management system against ASML Supplier Profile requirements. You manage the supplier to define and execute Improvement Plans to structurally resolve open items and de-risk the supplier

Coaching the Supplier to use ASML designed systems (e.g. portals) and processes, procedures, quality tools and techniques to increase supplier maturity level

Validation and acceptance of Product Readiness (quality) to be released towards volume operations

Ensure execution of supplier related Issue Resolution: MN’s, DN’s, AIR (ASML Issue Resolution)

Ensure that the definition and execution of the Supplier Quality Roadmap is in line with ASML quality performance ambitions

Leading quality escalations and organizing cross sector teams, including supplier, for solving disturbances in the factory and field, due to material quality

As a Quality Supplier Manager you are:

Responsible for the management of quality and operational performance of a selected number of key suppliers

Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to find structural solutions to Material Quality Non-Conformities.

Member of the multi-disciplinary Supplier Account Team, that strategically manages these Suppliers (SAT team)

Key focus Quality areas are Quality Management Systems, Operational Excellence, Quality Control, Complaint Handling, Configuration and Change Management (All related to Quality elements as stated in the QLTCS Supplier Profile)

Driving suppliers to a pro-active and Zero Defects Mindset

Perform (Business) Process Improvements

Education and experience

Bachelors degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, chemical, optical, industrial) and a green or black belt/lean six sigma experience including tooling (e.g. SPC, FMEA, 8D) or equivalent experience. Masters degree preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience

Experience in managing supplier on quality performance, preferably in complex high-tech and low volume industry

Experience in Quality Improvement & Operational Excellence in Manufacturing environment

Experience in participating in improvement projects across the Supply Chain

Experience in auditing (ISO 9001:2015 or equivalent), quality tools

Experience in complex work environment with multiple stakeholders

Skills

Interfaces with supplier’s counterpart and middle & Sr. management level

Interact with peer roles, factory group leads, Strategic Account Teams, SS&P Category, D&E, BLs, Factory, Managers

Focuses on complex volume parts / modules quality related deliverables

Leads quality escalations according to standard processes

Works independently within own field of expertise

Changes/improves internal department processes

Manage operational performance of SAT suppliers

Supporting supplier in setting up a long term Q-roadmap

Drive quality first mindset and improvements at supplier and ASML stakeholders

Ensures execution of supplier related structural material quality issues (MN, DN) Assess R4 readiness

Other information

The Quality Supplier Manager is taking care of ASML’s inbound logistics and is part of the Sourcing & Supply Chain organization. It represents ASML’s logistics and quality interface to its supply base, responsible for Materials Availability for ASML’s factories and service departments.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:

$86,625-144,375Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
