Students graduate prepared for college and service to their communities.JOB DESCRIPTION: The Business Manager will lead Cristo Rey San Diego High School in the areas of finance, accounting, insurance, real estate, and risk management. This position supports the President in creating and advancing a strategic vision for the school and maintaining sound fiscal management of all internal business operations. This position requires a minimum of 40 hours per week plus a willingness to devote additional time as needed for board meetings, community and donor engagement events and other fiscal endeavors.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Accounting & Finance Responsibilities:Ensures that appropriate accounting systems and internal controls are in place and maintained.Provides regular financial reports to the President and the Board of Trustees regarding all funds and assets of the school and all income and expenditures pertaining to its operation.Provides timely and accurate budgets, financial reports, and trend analysis to assist the President, the Board and other senior leaders in planning and decision-making.Maintains fiscal monthly, quarterly and year-end closing processes.Analyzes signed expense and balance sheet items.Analyzes assigned expense and balance sheet items, amortization of prepaid expenses, liability accruals, bank reconciliations and cash flow forecasting.Provides timely budget updates to department heads as needed.Supports semi-annual payroll process.Pays vendor invoices or bills.Reconciles school expenses.Makes bank deposits for the school.Prepares and submits annual 1099’s and files with IRS.Supervises and oversees kitchen operation funding sources including CNIPS, Free and Reduced Lunch program and other categorical funding.Develops and updates financial internal control processes, and prepares document retention policies.Supports the President in leading the annual budgeting process.Works with department heads to craft individual budgets and ongoing budget preparation and updates.Collaborates with the Finance Committee and President regarding a reliable cash flow projection process that addresses and reports operating cash needs.Coordinate and lead the annual audit process (if applicable), serve as liaison between auditors and the Audit Committee; facilitate completion and approval of audited statements and required annual filings.Business Operations Responsibilities:Works closely with the President and Board of Trustees.Communicates clearly and timely on matters impacting the school.Is a member of governance and finance School Board Subcommittees and participates in their meetings; and assists in setting various agendas.Supports the President in overseeing the financial affairs of the school, including the creation and use of scholarship and endowment funds, tuition and fee schedules, debt service and bank negotiations.Oversees Risk Management, Workers Compensation and Insurance of the school.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree required with a preference for study in accounting, finance, or administration and or the equivalent combination of work and experience required.CPA degree highly recommended but not required.A minimum of 2 years of professional experience working in administrative roles with exposure to bookkeeping, insurance, and office management.Intermediate experience with Quickbooks, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.Adaptable with ability to switch tasks based on shifting priorities.Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including evidence of enhancing an organization's financial strength and sustainability.START DATE: ImmediatelyTO APPLY: If you would like to be considered for the Business Manager position at Cristo Rey San Diego High School, please submit one PDF document containing the following information via email to drivera@cristoreysandiego.org:Cover letterProfessional resumeList of 3 professional references (including email and telephone contact information for each reference)Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and will be reviewed in the order in which they are received.
