Associate Director of Career Connections
June 11, 2024 The Associate Director supports the Career Connections team and has responsibility for direct implementation of programs and services designed to assist students in making appropriate educational and professional transitions after Landmark College. The director reports to the Senior Director.Responsibilities:Oversees and manages day to day operations of Career Connections student services, ERE program, and coordination of career readiness initiatives.Serves as supervisor for the Career Connections counselors/career advisors.Identifies student needs for information and advising on career planning, employment, graduate schools, and scholarships.Partners with academic programs and majors to cultivate career stories and successes and collaborates with faculty to build career development readiness skills, both with co-curricular and extracurricular opportunities.Contributes to and manages assessment activities related to career development programming.Compiles and reports data on employer relations activities, and assess employer relations effort.Increase career readiness experiences and opportunities for students graduating with an AA or BA degree and poised to enter the workforce.Manages the implementation and ongoing needs of the Employment Readiness Program including securing positions, the application process, selection of students, training, and any other additional support required for student success.Advise a caseload of students in career literacy and readiness, graduate school, and transfer college options in alignment with future goals. This includes but is not limited to assisting students in managing the college transfer or graduate school process, selecting a field of study and identifying career interests, and/or attaining an internship or job through the development of cover letters, resumes, and interview skills.Facilitate, foster, and maintain relationships with other colleges that are transfer options for Landmark students and act as an advocate for the Landmark education model.Coordinate career-related events and workshops as part of Career Connections programming.Attend on-campus events including Family Weekend, Graduation, Open House, Convocation, etc., offering presentations on Career Connections when appropriate.Assist Career Connections in developing and delivering career literacy curriculum to support academic classes.Develop resources for students, faculty, and staff in the areas of career literacy, the transfer process, and graduate school admissions.The Associate Director will maintain the program webpage and outreach materials to provide accessible resources and information for students, faculty, advisors, partners, and employers.Participate in on-going professional development in the field of learning disabilities, transfer admission, and career development.Landmark College, located in beautiful southern Vermont, is a unique, accredited college for bright neurodivergent students with learning differences (LD; including dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and executive function challenges).
