Provides direction and support to employees, managers, field human resources, and payroll relating to leave of absence plan direction, administration, and execution. Maintains accurate records, processes leave transactions and reporting as necessary. Continuously reviews trends in leave of absence programs and creates solutions to improve the experience and benefits for employees and AmeriGas.Duties and Responsibilities

Processing of LOA, ADA and disability claims. Assesses approvals from vendor for accuracy and reviews trends on claims, return to work assessments, and accommodations.Develop LOA procedures to ensure all compliance requirements (FLMA, ADA) are executed and meet deadlines. Researches and remains aware of changes of applicable federal, state, and local laws.Liaison with Payroll and HRIS on issues, report development, and system changes required due to new or revised disability plans, data requirements, and administrative procedures.Serve as main point of contact for employees by providing timely and appropriate leave information to employees. Advise employees on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off, worker’s compensation, short-term and long-term disability benefits, and the employee’s responsibility and expectations for leaves and actions needed for returning to work. Conduct interactive dialogues with employees to understand accommodation requests and partner with managers and HR on if reasonable accommodations may exist.Keep managers and HR apprised of employees on leave by providing accurate updates, estimated return to work dates, and information needed to effectively bring employees back to work in a timely manner. Partners with vendor, manager, workforce health team, and HR to support employees meeting requirements for leave of absence, accommodation requests, and return to work assessments.Guide, share insights, and provide recommendations to managers on matters related to leave of absence programs and accommodations.Partner with HR to outline next steps for leaves of absences and recommend resolutions to managers for performance management related to non-compliance or exhaustion of leave of absence programs.Maintain complete and accurate records of leaves and related information. Update the Leave of Absence report and distribute to appropriate parties of new STD claims and status updates.Manage workflow to ensure all leave transactions are processed accurately and timely, including reporting hours each pay period, tracking leave time, and notifying employees of expirations and need for recertification.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to work independently to analyze data and provide management with sound recommendations regarding leave of absence programs (process, communication, vendor management, recommendations) that support employees' needs and AmeriGas.Excellent customer service and communication skills (verbally and in writing) to all levels of the organization in effective and efficient manners.Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel and experience with case management technology platforms and vendors.Ability to handle stressful situations respectfully and remain neutral in resolving employee relation matters.Excellent attitude and interpersonal skills; ability to partner with multiple team members to build collaborative solutions.Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, other related field, or equivalent work experience.5+ years of experience leading and administering LOA and ADA programs in multiple states for medium to large organizations. Demonstrated knowledge and execution of disability, HR benefits and workers compensation programs preferred.PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.Knowledge of state paid family and medical leaves preferred.All offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and drug screen, subject to applicable laws and regulations.UGI Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
