The Capital Area Division (CAD) of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking to hire an experienced Demonstration Manager that is responsible for the planning and execution of the Program Capability and Technology Demonstrations. This person will conduct site surveys as required for all demonstrations and work with the vessel PM and other vessel managers to schedule ship checks, installation, and integration of demonstration equipment requirements. The right candidate will also conduct the required liaison with the vessel crew, system technical leads, and support asset providers to prepare for and execute a demonstration.Upon successful onboarding the incumbent will be responsible for the following:As the principal POC for executing demonstrations, the DM is responsible to the PM for timely and proper execution of all vessel program demonstrations.Conduct site surveys as required for all demonstrations and work with the vessel PM and other vessel managers to schedule ship checks, installation, and integration of demonstration equipment requirements.The DM will conduct the required liaison with the vessel crew, system technical leads, and support asset providers to prepare for and execute a demonstration.Using the CONOPS as a guide, work with the DPM and the OM and approved demonstrators on the Sources Sought, as necessary.Participate in the vessel program review of demonstration applications.Using the demonstration CONOPS as a guide, prepare a Demonstration Plan for each capability and technology demonstration. At a minimum, include the demonstration objectives, detailed schedule and run/event descriptions, an integration plan, communications plan, Safety/ORM, and a data collection plan with personnel and assignments.Coordinate with government organizations for permission to execute demonstrations on government bases and ranges.Work with other vessel personnel and system demonstrators to schedule installation and integration to support timely demonstrations, keeping all informed.The DM is the primary POC to ensure the proper coordination and demonstration of each technology with the vessel crew.The DM is responsible for scheduling multiple technologies and required support assets to enable efficient coordinated exercises meeting the objectives of the events.Using the CONOPS MOE and MOP, prepare data collection efforts during event execution. Ensure availability and calibration of data collection instrumentation.Coordinate evaluation of all demonstration objectives and coordinate efforts of Subject Matter Experts (SME) to provide advice/assistance when necessary.Review all collected data and notes from demonstration and assemble after action reports for the PM.Provide input to the program schedule and weekly input to the Vessel Deputy Program Manager.Prepare demonstration quick look reports and final reports for OM and DPM review. The quick look report shall be completed NLT six months after event completion.Required Qualifications:10 years of experience in Navy maritime research and development programs.Recent experience and knowledge of emerging unmanned systems and their operations in the maritime environment including air, surface, and underwater systems.Recent installation experience of newer maritime technologies that may have application to military missions. Technologies of interest include Radar, Electro Optics, Infrared Sensors, Communications, Electrical Power, Structural Materials, and propulsion systems.Recent experience in launch and recovery of unmanned systems and their operations.Experience in preparing government documents such as technical reports, technical memorandums, quick look reports, demonstration plans, and data collection/analysis reports.Secret Security Clearance required.COMPANY INFORMATION:Applied Research Associates, Inc. is an employee-owned international research and engineering company recognized for providing technically superior solutions to complex and challenging problems in the physical sciences.
