The Quality Assurance (QA) Lead plays a critical role in ensuring that software products meet high standards of quality and reliability. They collaborate closely with development teams, project stakeholders, vendors, business leaders, and other QA professionals to maintain excellence throughout the software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement QA policies, procedures, and methodologies to ensure product quality and compliance with standards.
Design and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate software functionality, performance, and usability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues throughout the software development lifecycle.
Establish and maintain QA metrics and reports to track defects, testing progress, and product quality.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent the recurrence of defects.
Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to QA processes.
Consult on changes to processes or procedures that would impact IT Compliance components.
Collaborate with business leaders to establish robust User Acceptance Testing.
Build and maintain effective communication and relationships with vendor partners. Monitor vendor performance against statements of work and seek process improvements.
Lead, coach, and develop QA teammates.
Foster collaborative relationships with the DCIO and Senior Directors within IT.
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in software quality assurance.
Proven experience in leading QA teams and managing QA processes.
Hands-on experience with test automation/engineering tools and frameworks.
Solid understanding of software development lifecycle and QA methodologies.
Preferred:
Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Relevant certifications such as ISTQB, CSTE, or CSQA.
Experience with performance testing and security testing.
Knowledge of cloud computing platforms and technologies.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Experience in regulated industries such as insurance.
