Purpose

The Branch Manager is responsible for the leadership and growth of branch operations by modeling

EXCEPTIONAL

member service skills ensuring that the financial, compliance, and sales and service objectives are being met while directly working with members to build relationships, uncover and satisfy their needs through the sale of financial products and services, while running all aspects of an efficient and productive branch. A strong emphasis is placed on the Branch Manager for loan originations/closings and for meeting the goals and strategic initiatives of the Credit Union under the direction of the Vice President of Branch Operations. Will manage branch with less than 4 full time employees.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for growing branch memberships, checking and booked loans to meet branch production goals. Will originate, process and close several types of consumer loans. Will develop and monitor the lending skill set of branch Member Services Representative (MSR) to ensure lending opportunities are being maximized. Will review all branch loans in GHFCU archive system to ensure compliance along with safe and sound lending practices are being maintained. Will provide monthly production reports to the VP of Lending.

Create and maintain a cross-selling environment to lead branch team to meet/exceed branch goals to include booked loans, new memberships and checking accounts while ensuring sound business practices and an exceptional level of service to all members.

Monitor branch operations to ensure a consistent application of operational policies and procedures. Monitor branch activity to reduce operational errors and to increase efficiencies. Document and hold staff accountable on critical member errors. Will provide monthly audit reports to the VP of Branch Operations.

Must be a proficient user in our Core system in order to assist and train staff and to back up all positions and functions as needed and to ensure all operational tasks are completed.

Develop and maintain a highly motivated, well-trained staff while maintaining effective employee relations. Actively participate in the training and professional development of staff. Participate in the recruitment and selection of quality applicants to develop an effective and enthusiastic team. Interview and select applicants for branch positions in cooperation with the Human Resources Manager.

Evaluate the job performance of branch staff through documented frequent coaching and observations to ensure staff is providing excellent member service to all members per our Georgia Heritage Member Service Standards.

Ensure that our members are informed of GHFCU products and services while assisting them to understand and resolve problems. Counsel members regarding their financial needs and then effectively refer and cross-sell appropriate products and services based on their individual needs.

Assist staff or members in solving complex account problems.

Actively participate in the local Community to represent GHFCU and support Credit Union sponsored events. Encourage branch staff to participate in CU events.

Apply and evaluate policies and procedures for employees. Ensure that the branch is in compliance with federal laws and regulations set forth by the National Credit Union Administration and other regulatory agencies.

Manage the security and safety of the branch with an unwavering adherence to dual control with self and staff. Enforce and monitor security and safety policies and robbery procedures with staff on an ongoing basis. Periodically verify cash in possession of tellers and cash on the premises. Ensure branch cash limits are within policy. Maintain cash vaults and ITM’s (Interactive Teller Machines) within Credit Union policies and procedures.

Ensure the proper maintenance of the building and grounds and for the general housekeeping of branch lobby, branch offices, teller area and work areas. Ensure that adequate supplies, forms, and working equipment are available for staff usage. Make recommendations to the VP of Branch Operations for additional equipment or issues with existing equipment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. Four years’ banking or credit union experience. Must have prior financial services management experience.
