Vice President Casualty, Claims Center

This position is responsible for leading and managing a team of claims professionals adjudicating Personal Lines & Commercial Casualty Claims. This role reports to the Claims Customer Experience Officer who oversees all Claims Center functions and disciplines. The Vice President of Casualty, Claims Center will work closely with other Claims Center functions and Casualty teams across North America Claims to align claims handling best practices and foster a strong culture of collaboration amongst teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure the highest levels of claims handling and customer service for Personal Lines & Commercial Casualty Claims.

Support North America Casualty leaders who are accountable for engaging with actuarial teams regarding claim activities and trends as well as product development, supporting and partnering in overall PRS business strategies and goals.

Manage financial results, including reserve adequacy for Personal Lines & Casualty Claims managed within the Claims Center.

Lead a team of approximately sixty (60) claims professionals handling Personal Lines & Commercial Casualty Claims to include Auto General and miscellaneous liability claims.

Ensure that significant exposures are timely recognized, transferred when appropriate, and elevated and overseen by the appropriate staff with commensurate skills.

Ensure timely evaluation and analysis of coverage, liability and damages for all Casualty Personal Lines & Commercial claims handled within the Claims Center.

Align the Casualty Claims Center team to all strategies for Personal Lines & Commercial Casualty Claims, ensuring the team is driving high quality claim results and delivering high quality claims service in line with North America Claims expectations.

Develop Casualty Claim Center strategies that reflect the objectives and key results of Chubb, North America Claims and the Claim Center priorities.

Assist in overseeing and building vendor relationships and ensuring their adherence to strategic goals and performance standards.

Partner with others in the Casualty Claims Discipline to achieve broader Chubb Claims & Corporate financial goals.

Build and develop organizational talent; identify and track success criteria and metrics.

Partner with HR to manage performance, foster talent development, support diversity and inclusion and create succession plans.

Minimum Requirements:

A minimum of 10 years of experience in managing Casualty Claims; preferred experience handling both Personal Lines and Commercial and leading of leaders.

Demonstrated ability to manage Casualty claims, as well as demonstrated ability to interact with and influence all levels of internal and external business partners and customers.

Organizational and management skills with a track record of success in building and managing high performing claims teams.

Team oriented collaborator and developer of people leaders.

Adaptable with the proven ability to navigate transformation and manage ambiguity.

Demonstrated ability to analyze and think strategically, with a passion for process improvement and operational excellence.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

A hands-on management style and strong work ethic.

Ability to drive results as well as coach and mentor others.

An advanced degree (JD or MBA) is preferred, but not required.
