Job Overview:

The Director of Awareness and Development is responsible for leading the development efforts of our organization, driving fundraising campaigns, and ensuring the growth of our donor base. Additionally, this position coordinates our community outreach and education. The successful candidate will have a strong background in building community support, possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and be able to utilize various software tools to manage and track donor information.

Duties:

Develop and implement comprehensive development strategies to meet the organization's financial goals.

Manage and maintain a database of donors, prospects, and supporters using Salesforce.

Identify and cultivate relationships with major donors, corporate partners, and foundation grantors.

Research and write grant proposals and reports to secure funding from various sources.

Create and disseminate regular communication pieces, including email campaigns, social media posts, and direct mail pieces, using tools such as MailChimp and Constant Contact.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with donors, volunteers, and other stakeholders to ensure continued support for the organization.

Utilize data collection and analysis skills to track and measure the effectiveness of development efforts and service outcomes.

Collaborate with the Executive Director to set and achieve development goals.

Negotiate with donors and partners to secure gifts, sponsorships, and other forms of support.

Provide regular reports to the Executive Director and other stakeholders on development progress and outcomes.

Manage and coordinate fundraising events, campaigns, and other special projects.

Develop and maintain an understanding of the organization's estate planning strategies and philanthropic goals.

Coordinate volunteers.

Provide community education.

Manage website, social media, and other media contacts.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree preferably in areas such as Business, Nonprofit Management, Public Health, Media and Communications, Public Administration or a related field.

Experience with planning events, cultivating supporters, community education, or similar roles.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Experience preferred in social media management and email marketing tools such as MailChimp and Constant Contact.

Ability to negotiate with donors and partners.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong commitment to the organization's mission and values.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
