Description

The Whole Life Cost Manager on the Real Estate & Development Team (RE&D) serves a pivotal role in identifying the lifecycle cost system for Apple’s diverse portfolio of retail stores and corporate spaces. The role is responsible for evaluating and analyzing the total life cycle cost of new and improved assets, ensuring that financial considerations are integrated into every stage of project development and implementation. The role will guide option appraisals and establish a system for detailed total cost analyses, driving efficiency and strategic alignment with Apple’s broader interpersonal goals.

Lifecycle Costing Expertise:

Experience assessing total cost of ownership, including capital expenditure, operational costs, maintenance, and disposal.

Project Management Experience:

Proven track record in planning, executing, and overseeing projects from inception to completion, emphasizing cost efficiency.

Risk Management:

Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks throughout the asset lifecycle.

Stakeholder Management:

Effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including finance teams, design teams, procurement teams, development teams, facilities management, and contractors.

Technical Knowledge:

Understanding of retail asset and corporate asset management, including construction, operation, and maintenance of retail and corporate workplace properties.

Sustainability Awareness:

Knowledge of sustainability practices and their impact on lifecycle costs, such as energy efficiency and environmental regulations.

Data Analysis:

Strong skills in interpreting and analyzing complex data sets related to cost and asset performance.

Communication and Collaboration:

Excellent communication skills and experience working with cross-functional teams.

Regulatory Knowledge:

Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to retail property development, management, and corporate real estate development.

Minimum Qualifications

10+ years of experience in financial and cost management, with a focus on lifecycle costing and project management.

Leadership:

Experience in leading and managing teams, with strong decision-making abilities in high-pressure situations.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced Project Management Certifications: PMP or other advanced project management certifications.

Experience with Integrated Systems: Deep understanding of integrated systems used in retail and corporate environments, including architectural systems, furniture, fixtures, lighting, and technology infrastructure.

Global Sourcing Experience: Experience in global supply chain management and understanding international procurement practices.

Platform Proficiency on Data-Driven Systems: Extensive experience with advanced data-driven platforms and tools, such as SAP, Oracle, or Power BI, to analyze and manage lifecycle cost data.

Knowledge of Sustainability Practices: Deep understanding of sustainable practices in construction and procurement, including experience with whole life carbon programs.

Cost Management Skills: Proficiency in cost estimation, analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning.

Reporting: Ability to produce clear, concise, and actionable reports for senior management and stakeholders.

Strategic Thinking: Capability to align whole life cost strategies with broader organizational goals and implement innovative cost-reduction approaches.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $178,400 and $268,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
