The Sonnenalp is looking for a Full-Time Year Round Maintenance Engineer - HVAC preferred. Sonnenalp is accepting applications until August 31st, 2024. Paid Housing is available for this position.Wage:

$22.00 - 25.00/hourPrimary Purpose of PositionThe Maintenance Engineer II is responsible for assisting the guests and other staff in maintaining and repairing equipment and the building facilities, performing all Sonnenalp duties daily, and ensuring the satisfaction of our guests under the supervision of senior engineering staff and as a result of their initiative.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesComplete work orders assigned by the Chief Engineer, Engineering Assistant, or other Engineering personnel or employees.Notify the Chief Engineer, Engineering Assistant or other qualified Engineer of inability to complete tasks due to lack of parts, time, or training.Daily maintenance including daily rounds, check and recording gauges and operation of boilers, water temperatures, circulating pumps, and other equipment.Room maintenance including changing light bulbs, repairing light fixtures, locks, and bathroom repairs (guest and public).Repair and adjustments on all doors, windows, and locks.Know and abide by all Hotel safety and emergency procedures.Assist in cleaning and keeping the maintenance shop orderly.Snow removal including shoveling, clearing ice, and snowplowing.Perform preventative maintenance and repairs in public areas.Miscellaneous responsibilities such as furniture repairs, hanging pictures, and minor electrical work.Education/ExperienceMinimum 2-3 years’ experience in a hotel or similar Engineering Department.Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems helpful.Experience in painting, drywall repair, and hanging pictures.Must be able to work with others and be professional and courteous to guests and fellow employees.Must maintain a performance review score of 3.0 or greater.Special Skills/EquipmentMinimum 1 year electrical experience required.Electric Certification Desired.Essential Physical RequirementsMust be able to lift, carry, push and pull material weighing up to 100 pounds.Must be able to work under conditions requiring prolonged standing, lengthy walking, and frequent bending.Requires the ability to distinguish colors and symbols.Requires frequent exposure to dust, dirt, water, and chemicals.Required to work outside in all weather conditions.Required to work overtime as needed.May be required to work evenings and weekends.Employee ConductIt is the responsibility of every employee to contribute to a positive work environment through cooperative and professional interactions with co-workers, guests, and vendors.This job description is intended to convey information essential to understanding the scope of the position and it is not intended to be an exhaustive list of skills, efforts, duties, responsibilities, or working conditions associated with the position.
