Read further to learn how you could help make great things possible not only in your community, but around the world.Job Description: Technical SpecialistThe candidate for this position within the industrial, utility, and renewable power industry should be capable of leading electrical power generation design projects as well as have familiarity and exposure to instrumentation and control work. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in power distribution, power generation, motor control, auxiliary power studies, lighting, grounding, specification writing, power system studies, relay settings development, scheduling, and cost estimating. In addition, the candidate will be expected to support marketing activities including proposal development in response to requests for proposals.In the role of Technical Specialist, we'll count on you to:Perform engineering assignments under the direct supervision of a licensed engineerDesign tasks involving judgment in evaluating, selecting and applying engineering techniques and proceduresProduction of design drawings and construction documents through the use of computer aided design and other softwarePreparation of design or quantity calculationsPreparation of specifications and contract documentsCoordination with other disciplines as necessaryOther duties as assigned by the supervising engineer

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineeringExperience working in multi-disciplinary environmentsExperience working in an owner's engineering role

Required Qualifications

Associate's degree in engineering or related field of study or equivalent work experienceA minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in the discipline to be supportedAptitude and demonstrated hands-on experience with computer applications specific to the discipline to be supportedKnowledge of industry standards specific to the discipline being supportedProficient with Microsoft OfficeGood verbal and written communication skillsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustWhat We BelieveHDR is our company.
