Job Description - Post Doc Research Fellow (3304945)Post Doc Research Fellow - (3304945)
The Petti Lab at Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking to fill a post-doctoral research position in
computational biology/single-cell genomics . We use computational approaches to analyze, integrate, and interpret genomic data -- particularly single-cell RNA-sequencing, spatial transcriptomic, and whole genome sequencing data -- to better understand intratumoral heterogeneity, tumor evolution, gene regulatory networks, and the immune microenvironment in human cancer. The postdoctoral scholar will analyze cutting-edge data sets designed to address topics such as the interplay of genetic, transcriptional, spatial, and immunological heterogeneity in cancer. We study a variety of tumor types, with an emphasis on brain tumors. Opportunities to initiate and lead projects, develop new analytic methods, learn wet-lab techniques, publish, participate in ongoing group projects, and be co-mentored by faculty collaborators are plentiful.Qualifications
Applicants must have a doctoral degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, genomics, computer science, biophysics, statistics, genetics, or a related field, with a solid background in both programming and cancer biology. A first-author or co-first-author publication in cancer genomics, single-cell genomics, and/or spatial transcriptomics is required. Applicants must be comfortable working on a Linux-based operating system, program in R and Python, and have experience with command-line bioinformatics tools. Background in machine learning and/or statistics is strongly preferred.Interested applicants should submit curriculum vitae to:Massachusetts General Hospital is an Affirmative Action Employer. By embracing diverse skills, perspectives and ideas, we choose to lead. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religious creed, national origin, sex, age, gender identity, disability, sexual orientation, military service, genetic information, and/or other status protected under law.
